국문 초록

많은 분야에서 장비 또는 상용 프로그램이 개발되고 있고, 새로운 기술과 타사 제품의 장점이 더해지면서 점차 복잡해져가고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 점차 복잡해져가는 장비의 사용성(Usability)을 증진시키기 위해 정보를 통합하는 설계(Information Integration Design)가 주목을 받게 되었다. 하지만 정보 통합이 절대적으로 좋은 것일까? 본 논문에서는 각 나라의 선급에서 추진하고 있는 Conning Display 설계에 대한 연구를 통하여, 정보의 통합보다 때로는 반대 경우인 정보의 분산(Information Distribution)이 더욱 효율적임을 보이고자 하였다. 여러 인간공학적 연구 방법을 적용하여 Conning Display를 설계해 보았으며, 수행도 평가 실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과 대양(연안) 항해시 그리고 목적항 입출항시의 구분된 Conning Display 즉, 필요한 기능만을 부각시킨 것이 더욱 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

In many fields, commercial programs or equipments are being developed and these are getting complicated more and more by adding advantages from existing products. In promoting the usability of these products, design based on the information integration receives attention. However, is information integration always better? In this study, we tried to demonstrate information distribution is more efficient than information integration through Conning Display design that was propelled by many countries' classification societies. We designed the Conning Display using many ergonomic methods and conducted its performance experiment. Results of the performance experiment reveal that Conning Display having two modes (one shows the functions related with Ocean and Coast voyage and another shows the functions related with docking and leaving port) is more efficient.
