국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 “선박의 밸러스트수와 침전물의 통제 및 관리를 위한 국제협약”의 D-2기준을 만족하기 위한 새로운 방식의 밸러스트수 처리 시스템을 개발하는데 있다. 본 처리시스템은 아래와 같은 처리공정이 포함된 복합처리 시스템이다. 첫 번째 단계인 여과에서 플랑크톤을 제거하고 두 번째 단계에서 박테리아를 살균처리한다. 필터시스템은 필터링을 하는 동안 필터를 세척하는 방식을 이용하였다. 살균처리공정에서는 오존처리, 전해처리, 자외선 살균 방식을 적용하였다. 처리장치의 용량은 50㎥/h이다. 테스트 결과 역세척 주기와 역세척 지속시간은 전체 시스템의 효율과 역세척 효율을 고려하여 역세척 지속시간은 6초가 적당한 것을 나타났으며, 도출된 지속시간을 기준으로 하여 95%의 제거효율은 얻었다. 30분 동안의 역세척 주기가 필요하였다. 여과처리를 통하여 50㎛이상의 식물성 플랑크톤과 동물성 플랑크톤을 포함하는 수중생물체를 제거할 수 있었다. 실험결과를 통하여 밸러스트수 처리에 적용 가능한 기술임을 알 수 있었다. 이 연구에서 밸러스트수 처리를 위한 우수한 복합처리시스템임을 보여주었다.

영문 초록

This study is to develop a new type of Ballast Water Treatment System that satisfies Regulation D-2 of the "International Convention of the Control and Management on Ship's Ballast Water and Sediments". This system is a hybrid system which consists of the following process; It removes most plankton by a filtration in the first process and disinfects residual plankton and bacteria by sterilization treatment in the second process. The filtration system with a method witch is able to wash the filter surface while filtering is adopted. The sterilization process disinfects organisms by UV, Ozeon, electrolysis process. The capacity of pilot plant was 50㎥/h. The result of the test, Backwash cycle time and duration time had a signification effect on the efficiency of system and backwash. Backwash duration time was determined to be fixed in 6 seconds fo the system with more than 95% removal rate, It needed 30min backwash frequency. Filtration system removal aquatic organism over 50㎛ in ballast water. This study shows that the filtration treatment system has a potential for the treatment of ballast water.
