영문 초록

Professional tourist guides are one of the important mile stones of tourism. Guides have vital role in publicity of a country and a district. The importance of professional tourist guides has raised more as cultural heritage gain more importance and people began to show more interest to cultural tourism. Besides with the increase in number of protected areas and increase in the demand to ecotourism “District Guidance” concept has emerged. As this concept emerged and may be with miss informing the people the two concepts; professional tourist guidance and district guidance have been confused and both occupational groups have formed organisations against each other. The aim of the study is to define the professional tourist guidance and district guidance with in the regulations and clear away the ambiguity between the two occupational groups. In the study firstly conceptual explanations and definitions according to regulations were made and professional tourist guides thoughts were analysed. In the conclusion part what should be done about the topic mentioned and some solution suggestions presented.
