박용래 시의 미적 특질과 그 의미

국문 초록

본고의 목적은 박용래 시에 나타난 자연의 양상과 그로 인한 박용래 시의 미적 특질들이 무엇인지, 그리고 그러한 특질들이 주류적 전통서정시들과 어떤 유의미한 차이들을 보이는지를 밝히는 것이다. 구체적으로 그에게 있어서 자연은 관조의 대상물도, 선험적 정신성을 발견하기 위한 매개물도, 그 불가해한 힘 때문에 정복해야 하는 대상도 아닌, ‘생활 속에서’ 만나게 되는 자연이다. 이러한 자연 인식을 통해서 그는 당대 농촌의 궁핍함, 그리고 향토적 물상들을 오히려 자연스럽게 자연화 할 수 있었다. 이러한 점은 자연을 통해 전통을 발견하려 했던, 그리고 그러한 현실적 지향에 따라 자연을 정신적 좌표의 한 축으로 설정했던 주류적 전통서정시와의 거리를 통해 그 유의미성을 드러내었다고 볼 수 있다. 두 번째로 이 글은 박용래 시 특유의 미적 특질을 정지의 시간과 주변성의 미학으로 파악했는데, 구체적으로 정지의 시간은 풍경을 정물화시킴으로써 드러났다고 볼 수 있으며, 주변성의 미학은 ‘주변적인 것’의 단독성을 통해 드러났다고 볼 수 있다. 특히 대상을 하나의 정물로서 포착하는 행위는 사물들을 명사형으로 제시하거나, 여백의 효과를 노림으로써 달성될 수 있었는데, 이는 주류적 전통서정시학이 표방한 무시간성, 초시간성과는 달리 탈시간성의 지평 위에서 대상들 사이의 관계성을 드러냄으로써 특유의 미학적 성취를 이루어 낸 것이라고 할 수 있다. ‘주변적인 것’에 대한 탐색 또한 특수를 통해 보편을 환기하는 주류 전통시학의 방식이 아니라, 사물의 단독성을 발견함으로써 주변성의 미학을 이루어 냈다고 할 수 있다. 이와 같이 박용래의 시는 주류적 전통서정시와의 거리를 통해 오히려 그 유의미성이 발견된다고 할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In this thesis, it is evaluated what is the cognizance of nature in Park, Yong-Rea’s poetry and aesthetic characteristics induced by the cognizance. At first, the nature cognized by him is not an object of contemplation, not a medium for priori spirit, and not something to be conquered because of the impenetrable power. He recognizes the nature just ‘in Everyday Life’. Through the cognizance of nature, he could naturalize contemporary rural destitution and local objects just as well. These expresses of academic significance, differed from the mainstream faction of traditional lyrics which have tried to define the tradition through the nature and to set up the nature as an axis of spiritual coordinate. An distinctive aesthetic characteristics in Park, Yong-Rea’s poetry, in here, also was prescribed as an aesthetics of the freeze-frame and a poetics of the marginality. Concretely, the aesthetics of the freeze-frame was revealed as through naturalizing a landscape and the poetics of the marginality was revealed as through the singularity of “marginal existence”. The literary act to seize an object as a still-lifes was appeared in his works by nominalization of an object and by providing a blank space, that could be distinctive literary achievement as through disclosing a connection of each object on the thread of departing time properties in contrast with transcending time properties advocated by the mainstream faction of traditional lyrics. “marginal existence” also was explored as through detecting the singularity of an object unlike awakening the universality through particularity advocated by the mainstream faction.
