沆瀣 洪吉周의 讀書趣向과 『書林日緯』

국문 초록

沆瀣 洪吉周(1786~1841)는 19세기를 대표하는 京華世族이자 文翰世家의 후예로 19세기를 대표하는 뛰어난 문장가이다. 그의 방대한 저술은 『峴首甲藁』 10권(권9,10 缺)·『縹礱乙㡨』 16권·『沆瀣內函』 10권(권3 缺) 등 3종의 문집을 비롯하여, 『孰遂念』·『書林日緯』·‘睡餘三筆’ 등 筆記類 저술이 별도로 널리 유통된 바 있다. 본고는 19세기 당대뿐 아니라 후대까지 널리 향유되고 계승된 필기류 저작 『서림일위』를 주목하였다. 『서림일위』는 1829년에 册曆에 따라 標目을 정하고, 1년 360일 중 중국의 전대 문헌에서 해당 날짜의 기록을 집대성한 저술로, 일명 ‘독서록’에 해당한다. 遊獻翰墨의 獻作的 성향을 배제할 수 없지만, 중년기에 해당하는 항해의 독서에 대한 관심과 취향을 사실적으로 보여주며, 나아가 19세기 京華世族의 學術과 文藝의 특징을 파악할 수 있는 귀중한 자료이다. 현전하는 『서림일위』를 통해서 본다면, 『서림일위』는 1829년 항해가 집대성한 일종의 ‘독서록’의 성격에만 국한되지 않는다. 이는 19세기 경화세족의 학술과 문예의 일단을 보여줄 뿐만 아니라, 『서림일위』가 이후 어떻게 향유되고 계승되고 있는가를 구체적으로 보여주고 있다. 이는 항해의 『서림일위』가 개인 저술의 차원을 넘어 시대와 공간을 초월하여 향유·계승되고 있다는 점에서 남다른 의미를 지니는 것이다.

영문 초록

Hanghae Hong, Gil-Ju(1786∼1841) is an excellent a good writer who is an inheritor of both a distinguished noble family and a distinguished literary family who represents the 19th century. His vast writing covers 3 types of collections including a collection of 10 volumes of 『hyeon-soo-gap-go』(kwon 9, 10 gyeol)･16 volumes of 『pyo-long-eul-cheom)』･10 volumes of 『Hang-haebyeong-ham』(kwon 3 gyeol), with notes such as 『sook-soo-nyeom』･『seorim-il-wi』 ･‘soo-yeo-sam-phil’, etc additionally distributed around the nation at the time. In this research, I have paid attention to 『seorim-il-wi』 which was inherited and written to later generation including the 19th century. 『seorim-il-wi』 can be referred to as ‘lectures’ which had created signposts according to a book calendar in 1829 and made a synthesis of records dated back to literature of previous generation among 360 days for a year. It cannot help including light literature style of yu-hee-han-mook, but it realistically shows Hanghae’s special interest in and liking for reading in mid-term age, moreover it can be a priceless material for us to find out what the learning and literature of a distinguished noble family in the 19th century were. When seen from existing 『seorim-il-wi』, 『seorim-il-wi』 is not just limited to a type of ‘lecture’ that was made a synthesis of by Hanghae in 1829. But it also showed learning and literature of a distinguished noble family in the 19th century and concretely showed how 『seorim-il-wi』 were enjoyed and inherited thereafter. It is specially meaningful in that Hanghae's 『seorim-il-wi』 surpasses limit of individual writing, and has been enjoyed and inherited beyond ages and space.
