국문 초록

본 연구는 장애인을 위한 첨단기술에 대한 관점과 그 지향점에 대한 논의를 시작해보고자 하는 목적을 가진다. 장애인과 첨단기술의 관계에 대한 담론들은 무엇인지, 장애인 당사자들은 첨단기술과 어떠한 관계를 맺고 있는지, 그리고 첨단기술이 장애인을 둘러싼 물리적 사회적 환경을 변화시킬 수 있는지 살펴보았다. 우선 첨단기술에 대한 일반적 논의로 장애의 종식이 가능한가, 증강되어 포스트휴먼이 되어야 하는가, 보조기기들은 인공지능기술을 탑재해야 하는가에 대한 근본적인 질문에 대해 대답을 시도하였다. 둘째, 장애인 당사자의 관점에서 첨단기술은 어떠한 역할을 하고 있는지 그리고 어떠한 역할을 할 수 있는지 기술하였다. 첨단기술들은 장애인이 자신의 능력을 증진시키기 위해 필요에 따라 선택할 수 있는 다양한 요소 중 하나일 뿐 첨단기술이 고도로 발달한다고 해도 그 기술만으로 장애인의 능력을 설명할 수는 없음을 구체적인 브뤼노 라튜르 이론과 예시를 통해 제시하였다. 마지막으로 환경변화와 관련하여 안면인식기술을 중심으로 그 영향을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결론으로 첨단기술은 장애를 종식시키는 것이 아닌 장애가 있는 채로도 주체적으로 살아갈 수 있도록 지원해주는 도구가 되어주는 것 그것이 우리가 기대하고 추구하는 방향임을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to initiate a discussion on advanced technology for people with disabilities. Discourses on the relationship between individuals with disabilities and advanced technology were explored, examining how individuals with disabilities are connected to advanced technology and whether such technology can alter the physical and social environment surrounding people with disabilities. Firstly, a general discussion on advanced technology attempted to address fundamental questions such as whether the end of disabilities is possible, whether augmentation leading to a post-human state is necessary, and whether assistive devices should incorporate artificial intelligence technology. Secondly, from the perspective of individuals with disabilities, the roles and potential roles of advanced technology were described. It was emphasized that while advanced technologies are one of the various elements that individuals with disabilities can choose as needed to enhance their abilities, the development of advanced technology alone cannot fully explain the abilities of individuals with disabilities. Finally, the study examined the impact of facial recognition technology in relation to environmental changes. In conclusion, advanced technology is emphasized as a tool that supports individuals to live proactively with disabilities rather than aiming to eliminate disabilities, aligning with the direction we and pursue.
