국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 어머니의 코로나 19 스트레스와 유아의 놀이성의 관계를 알아보고, 그 관계에서 유아의 스마트폰 과의존 및 사회·정서적 유능감의 이중매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 S시에 위치한 국공립어린이집에 재원하고 있는 만3-5세 유아 총 436명과 그들의 어머니를 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 어머니의 코로나 19 스트레스 측정을 위해 ‘한국인을 대상으로 한 코로나 19 스트레스 척도’를 사용하였으며 유아의 스마트폰 과의존을 측정하기 위해 ‘유·아동 스마트폰 중독 관찰자 척도’를 사용하였다. 어머니의 코로나 19 스트레스와 유아의 스마트폰 과의존은 어머니가 평정하였다. 유아의 놀이성은 ‘유아의 놀이성 검사도구(Children’s Playfulness Scale; CPS)를 사용하였으며 사회·정서적 유능감은 ‘유아의 사회·정서적 유능감 척도’를 사용하였다. 유아의 놀이성과 사회·정서적 유능감은 유아의 행동을 관찰한 후 담임교사가 평정하도록 하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0을 활용하여 각 변인들의 기술통계 및 상관관계를 살펴보았고, 구조모형 검증과정은 Mplus7.0의 구조방정식모델(Structural equation modeling)을 사용하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 어머니의 코로나 19 스트레스와 유아의 놀이성 및 유아의 사회·정서적 유능감은 부적상관이 있었으며 유아의 스마트폰 과의존과는 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 유아의 스마트폰 과의존은 사회·정서적 유능감 및 놀이성과 부적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 유아의 사회·정서적 유능감은 놀이성과 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 어머니의 코로나 19 스트레스와 유아의 놀이성의 관계에서 유아의 스마트폰 과의존과 사회·정서적 유능감의 순차적 이중 매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 코로나 19와 같은 팬데믹 상황에서 유아의 놀이성에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요인들을 다각도로 살펴보고 유아의 놀이성 증진을 위한 방안 모색의 기초 자료로 사용될 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between mothers’ COVID 19 stress and children’s playfulness, and to verify the double mediating effect of children’s over dependence on smart phone and social/ emotional competency in that relationship. The subjects of the study were 436 children aged 3-5 years and their mothers in daycare centers located in Seoul. ‘Covid-19 Stress Scale for Koreans’, ‘Children’s Smart Phone Addiction Observer Scale’, ‘Children’s Playfulness Scale(CPS)’, and ‘Children’s Social and Emotional Competence Scale’ were used in the collection of data. For the collected data, descriptive statistics and correlations of each variable were examined using SPSS 21.0, and structural equation modeling of Mplus7.0 was used for the structural model verification process. As a result of the study, there was a negative correlation between mothers’ COVID 19 stress and children’s playfulness as well as social/emotional competency, and it was found that there was a positive correlation with children’s over dependence on smart phone. Children’s over dependence on smart phone was negatively correlated with social/emotional competency and playfulness. Children’s social/emotional competency showed a positive correlation with playfulness. Second, in the relationship between mothers’ COVID 19 stress and children’s playfulness, it was found that children’s over dependence on smart phone and social/ emotional competency were sequentially double mediated. It is expected that the results of this study will be used as basic data to examine factors that can affect children’s play in a pandemic situation such as COVID-19 from various angles and to seek ways to improve children’s play.
