유치원 교사의 디지털 미디어 및 콘텐츠 활용 실제와 신념에 관한 면담 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 유치원 교사가 교육현장에서 디지털 미디어 및 콘텐츠를 어떻게 활용하고 있는지, 또한 어떠한 신념을 가지고 있는지 탐색하고자 하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 경남지역 공립, 사립유치원에 근무하는 만 3세~만 5세 학급 담임교사 10명을 참여자로 선정하고, 개별 면담을 진행하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 교사들의 디지털 미디어 활용에 기관의 물리적, 심리적 환경이 배경으로 작용하였고, 그 안에서 다양한 활용 양상이 나타났다. 또한 교사들은 유아교육의 맥락과 기관-가정 연계 맥락에서 다양한 디지털 플랫폼과 콘텐츠를 사용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유치원 교사의 디지털 미디어 및 콘텐츠에 관한 신념은 ‘활용적합성’과 ‘교육방향성’ 측면으로 범주화되었다. 교사 신념 중 활용적합성에는 디지털 미디어에 관한 교사의 철학과 활용역량, 교육방향성에는 유아에게 필요한 미디어 교육의 방향과 교육용 앱의 지향점이 등이 드러났다. 이 연구를 통해 유치원 교사의 디지털 역량을 강화할 수 있는 다양한 디지털 미디어 교육 프로그램 제공이 중요하며, 유치원의 미디어 환경과 미디어 사용에 관한 원장과 학부모의 인식이 개선되어야 할 필요성을 제기하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore how kindergarten teachers used digital media and contents in the educational context and what beliefs they had. For this purpose, an individual interview was conducted for 10 teachers from public and private kindergartens in Kyeongnam province. The interview results showed that teachers used digital media in various ways, and the physical and psychological environment of the kindergarten acted as the background. In addition, teachers utilized various digital platforms and contents in the context of early childhood education and kindergarten-home connections. Second, the beliefs of kindergarten teachers about digital media and contents were categorized in terms of ‘appropriateness of using digital media and contents’ and ‘orientation of media education.’ In appropriateness, teachers’ philosophy and utilization capabilities on media were mentioned, and the orientation of media education and educational apps were mentioned. This study confirms the importance of providing diverse media education programs for kindergarten teachers, and raised the need for improving parents’ and kindergarten directors’ perceptions of digital media environment.
