드라마 색상에 대한 선호도 분석: <종이의 집> 원작과 리메이크작에 대한 파일럿 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 드라마 색상에 대한 수용자들의 선호도를 분석하여 한국 드라마에 나타나는 색채가 가지는 강점을 알기 위한 파일럿 연구이다. 선행 연구들이 드라마간 색채 차이만을 분석하거나 이미지에 구현된 색채에 따라 수용자들이 느끼는 선호도만을 살펴본 것과 달리, 본 연구는 스페인 드라마 ‘종이의 집’ 원작 시즌1과 이에 대응하는 한국 리메이크작 ‘종이의 집: 공동경제구역’ 드라마로부터 선택된 이미지를 가지고 원작과 리메이크작에 적용된 색채를 분석한 후, 이를 교차 적용하여 이들간의 상대적인 선호도를 조사하였다. 그 다음 설문에서 상대적인 선호를 보인 이미지의 색상 차이를 다시 분석했다. 즉, 하나의 원본 이미지와 색상을 바꾼 2개의 이미지를 1개의 쌍으로 구성하고 설문을 통해 선호도 조사와 색채 분석을 실시했다. 파일럿 연구의 성격상 10개 쌍의 20개의 이미지를 가지고, 학부 수업의 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 86개의 유효한 응답을 확보하였다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 한국 리메이크 드라마에 나타난 색채를 적용한 이미지에 대한 선호가 스페인 원작 드라마에 나타난 색채를 적용한 이미지보다 1.5배 정도 더 높았다. 또한 스페인 원작 이미지에 한국 드라마에 나타난 색채를 적용한 경우에도 한국적 색채에 대한 선호로도 이어졌다. 선호가 개인적 속성이 아니라 이미지에 나타난 색채인지를 검증한 결과 응답자 개인속성보다 색상차에 의한 선호도 차이임을 밝힐 수 있었는데, 이 과정에서 유의미하게 나타난 요소는 채도로, 한국적 색채에는 채도 유사계가 더 많이 사용되는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 한일 드라마 연구에서도 나타난 일관된 결과로, 본 연구는 다른 국가 드라마들과 대별되는 한국 드라마 색채 적용의 일반성과 그에 따른 K-콘텐츠 성공에서 색채의 역할을 밝히는 데 기여할 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study is a pilot study that aims to understand the strength of color in Korean dramas by analyzing viewers' preferences for color in dramas. Unlike previous studies that only analyzed the color differences between dramas or examined the preferences of viewers based on the colors embodied in the images, this study examined the relative preferences of viewers by cross-applying the corresponding images to selected images from the original season 1 of the Spanish drama “Money Heist” and the Korean remake “Money Heist: Joint Economic Area,” and then analyzed the color differences between the images. In other words, one original image was paired with the color of the corresponding image, and a survey and color analysis were conducted. Due to the nature of the pilot study, we surveyed the students in the class with 20 images in 10 pairs, and obtained 86 valid responses. The results of the analysis showed that the preference for images with colors from the Korean remake was 1.5 times higher than the preference for images with colors from the original Spanish drama, and the preference for Korean colors was also higher when the original Spanish images were applied to images with colors from the Korean drama. When we tested whether the preference was due to the colors in the images rather than personal attributes, we found that the difference in preference was due to color differences rather than personal attributes, with the most significant factor being saturation. This is a result that has also been found in Korean-Japanese drama studies, and this study is expected to contribute to shedding light on the generalities of color application in Korean dramas compared to other national dramas.
