『삼국연의』의 발화형식 - 호명방식을 중심으로

국문 초록

발화형식의 연구는 발화자가 전제되어야 하며, 작가가 이름을 불러주어야 발화자를 특정할 수 있다. 연의라는 특성상 작가의 서사의도가 투영되지 않은 인물들의 이름엔 그간 관심을 기울이지 않았다. 그러나 고찰 결과 비록 실명이지만 다양한 호명방식의 심층에는 서사전략들이 유기적으로 결합하고 있었다. ‘디지털 통계 도구’인 엑셀로 8, 892개에 달하는 발화를 계량화하여 발화자 호명의 규칙성과 불규칙성이라는 서사의도를 읽을 수 있었다. 조조의 사례와 같은 상징적 폄하의 서사전략 그리고 ‘여성’과 ‘작은 사람’들에게 압도적으로 ‘其’를 많이 사용한 차별적 서사기법 등은 객관적 수치에 의한 데이터 분석이 아니었으면 발견하지 못했을 것이다. 문학분석에 디지털 방식의 객관적 데이터를 가미한 이번 연구의 방법론과 그 결과가 문학 탐구영역의 확장이라는 성과로 이어지길 기대한다.

영문 초록

In the study of the form of utterance, the speaker must be presupposed and the author must call his name to reveal who the speaker was. The name of the character in “Sanguoyanyi(三国演义)” was a real name that did not reflect the author's narrative intention. Studies so far have not paid much attention to the “realname”. According to the research, it was found that various calling methods contain narrative techniques and narrative strategies. By quantifying a total of 8, 892 utterances in “Sanguoyanyi” using Excel, a ‘digital statistical tool’, the narrative intention of regularity and irregularity of the speaker’s name could be seen. The narrative strategy of symbolic denigration seen in Caocao(曹操)’s case, and the discriminatory narrative technique that used “其” very often in “women” or “small people(小人物)” would have been difficult to find without objective numerical data analysis. This study will be little help in discovering areas that have not been seen before by adding digital quantitative data to literary analysis and expanding the field of literary exploration.
