국문 초록

본 연구는 유아들의 또래 놀이 상호작용에서 나타나는 유아들의 발견과 이해에 대해 탐구하고 논의하는 것이 주된 목적이다. 이를 위해 어린이집 교실에서 참여관찰로 유아들의 또래 놀이를 약 9개월 동안 관찰하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 나타난 유아들의 발견과 이해는 사물의 속성, 특징에 대한 발견과 이해, 사회적 개념의 발견과 이해, 수 개념의 발견과 이해로 구분되었다. 이러한 결과는 유아들의 또래 놀이는 지식 발견과 이해의 지대(zone)라는 점과 그것의 주된 통로는 감각적 지각과 인상, 탐구, 사회적 상호작용과 관련있음을 알려주고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 또래 놀이 상호작용은 유아들의 발견과 이해를 이끌므로 유아교육과정을 구성할 때 이를 활용할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study examined young children’s findings and understanding during play with peers. 15 young children had been observed for 9 months in the preschool classroom. The results in this study were as follows. First, the findings and understanding of young children in this study were grouped as three domains, which is findings and understanding about an object’s property and characteristics, social concepts, and math concepts. The meaning of the findings implies that young children’s play and interactions with peers is the zone for their findings and understanding of information. The study found that young children relied on sensory perception and impression, experimentation with exploration, and social interactions with peers. Also, this study implies play materials are the preferred way to get into peer’s play than the linguistic strategy. In results, this study means that early childhood teachers are important to utilize the curriculum for young children to positively affect play and associated interactions with peers.
