국문 초록

본 연구는 ‘지속 가능한 삶을 위한 작문 교육의 역할은 무엇인가’라는 질문에서 시작되었다.쓰기는 그 쓰인 텍스트가 시간과 공간을 뛰어넘은 독자와 관계할 수 있다는점에서,보다 보편적이고 영속적인 공동의 장을 마련함으로써 세계의 영속성에 기여한다.따라서 쓰기를 통해 과거로부터 이어져 왔으며 미래로 이어져 갈 ‘지속 가능한삶’을 상상하고 성찰하는 학습자를 길러내는 것은 필연적인 일이라고 할 수 있다.지속 가능한 삶을 위해서는 성찰적 역량이 요구되는데,이 때의 성찰은 사적 영역과 공론 영역을 모두 아우르는 것이어야 하며 글쓰기는 학습자로 하여금 자신의 사적인 세계로부터 공적인 세계로 나아가는 삶의 총체성을 경험케 할 수 있다. 글쓰기를 통한 성찰은 내가 누구일 수 있는지,누구이고 싶은지에 대한 기투(企投) 이자 약속으로서의 수행성,물음에 응답하고 문제를 해결해 나가는 과정으로서의 응답성,지연하고,머뭇거리고,멈추고,되돌아가 정정하는 어려운 과정으로서의 난해성에 터할 때 가능한 것이라는 점에서,그러한 글쓰기의 본질을 충실히 경험케 하는 작문 교육이 이루어져야 할 것이다. 이를 위한 작문 교육의 한 방향으로 본고에서는 쓰기를 매개로 한 소통의 직접 경험을 제안하였으며 실제 학습자의 반응을 통해 그 의미를 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

This study begins with the question: What role does writing education play in sustainable life? Writing contributes to the world’s perpetuity by creating a universal and enduring common ground, as the written text can connect with readers across time and space. Thus, it is inevitable that writing will cultivate learners capable of imagining and reflecting on “sustainable living,”, a way of life that has persisted from the past and will continue into the future. A sustainable life requires a reflective capacity that encompasses both private and public spheres, and writing enables learners to experience the entirity of life, transitioning from their private to the public sphere. Reflection through writing is possible by the inherent properties of writing: its performativity as both a commitment and a project towards who one can be or wishes to be; its responsivity in addressing questions and solving problems; and its difficulty requiring an iterative endeavour of delay, hesitation, stopping, and revision. In this context, writing education should be desinged to genuinely facilitate the experience of such writing. This paper proposes direct experience of communication mediated by writing as one approach to writing education for this purpose and examines its significance through the responses of actual learners.
