초등학생의 과학 글쓰기에서 명사화 실현과 어휘 사용 양상 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학생의 과학 글쓰기 양상을 명사화의 실현과 어휘 밀도 그리고 고빈도 단어의 분석을 통해 조사하였다.이를 위해,초등학생 24명의 과학 글쓰기를 명사화의 실현 양상을 ‘명제의 대상화’,‘명제의 개념화’,‘의미의 범주화’,‘내용의 요약화’,‘객관적 태도’,‘전문적 태도’로 분류하였다.초등학생 24명의 과학 글쓰기에서명사화는 총 41번 등장하였다.그중에서 ‘내용의 요약화’가 가장 많이 실현되었으며다음으로 ‘객관적 태도’가 많이 실현되었다.초등학생이 생산한 과학 글쓰기의 어휘밀도는 0.49로 확인되었다.다음으로 과학 글쓰기 상위 집단 학생과 하위 집단의 명사화 실현과 어휘 밀도,고빈도 단어를 비교 분석하였다.상위 집단 학생들은 하위 집단에 비해 명사화 실현이 더 많았으며 어휘 밀도 또한 더 높았다.그리고 고빈도 단어의분석 결과,상위 집단 학생들의 경우 어휘 간 관계를 이해하고 이를 좀 더 과학 용어와상위 어휘를 활용하여 논리적으로 설명하려고 하지만,하위 학생들의 경우 아직 하위어휘 수준에서 상황을 구체적으로 말하듯이 설명하였다.본 연구의 시사점은 명사화활용에 대한 교육 그리고 사고 도구어 교육의 필요성을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the science writing patterns of elementary school students through the realization of nounization, word density, and analysis of high-frequency words. To this end, the science writing of 24 elementary school students was classified into ‘objectification of propositions’, ‘conceptualization of propositions’, ‘categorization of meaning’, ‘summary of content’, ‘objective attitude’, and ‘professional attitude’. In the science writing of 24 elementary school students, nounization appeared a total of 41 times. Among them, ‘summary of content’ was realized the most, followed by ‘objective attitude’. The vocabulary density of science writing produced by elementary school students was confirmed to be 0.49. Next, the realization of nounization, vocabulary density, and high-frequency words of the upper and lower groups of science writing were compared and analyzed. The upper group students had more realization of nounization and higher vocabulary density than the lower group. And as a result of the analysis of high-frequency words, the upper group students try to understand the relationship between vocabulary and explain it logically using more scientific terms and higher vocabulary, but the lower students explained the situation as if speaking in detail at the lower vocabulary level. The implications of this study suggested the necessity of education on the use of nounization and academic vocabulary.
