국문 초록

본 연구는 디지털 공감을 통한 사회 참여 경험 분석을 통해 디지털 시민성 함양을위한 연결고리를 찾고,이를 토대로 디지털 미디어교육 방식을 고찰한다.연구 결과는다음과 같다.첫째,연구참여자들은 온라인 공간에서 감정적 공감과 인지적 공감을 경험했다.그중 인지적 공감을 경험한 연구참여자들이 많았던 것은 인지적 공감이 친사회적 행동으로 이어지게 한다는 선행연구의 결과들과 크게 다르지 않다.따라서 디지털 공감 교육 프로그램을 구성할 경우 이러한 인지적 공감 경험을 촉진할 수 있는 내용이 포함되어야 할 필요가 있다.둘째,공감적 관심은 이타적-이기적 의도 모두 드러나며,특히 이타적 의도에서는 ‘연대의식’이 중요한 키워드로 포착된다.이는 고통을공감한 사람들 간의 연대,부당한 상황을 타개하고자 하는 연대 등 다양하게 나타나며,이 연대의식이 도움 행동,즉 참여로 이어지게 한다.마지막으로 공감과 도움 행동과정을 거치며 디지털 시민성을 몸소 경험하고,사회 내 민주적 시민으로서의 역할을습득해가고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study finds a link for cultivating digital citizenship by analyzing social participation experiences through digital empathy, and examines digital media education methods based on this. The results were as follows; First, the participants experienced emotional and cognitive empathy in online spaces. The finding that many participants experienced cognitive empathy is not very different from the results of previous studies showing that cognitive empathy leads to a prosocial behavior. Therefore, when deveoping a digital empathy education program, including content that promotes this cognitive empathy experience is necessary. Second, an empathic interest revealed both altruistic and selfish intentions; in particular, a ‘sense of solidarity’ was captured as an important keyword in altruistic intentions. It manifested itself in various ways, such as solidarity between people who sympathize with pain and solidarity to overcome unfair situations. This sense of solidarity led to a helping behavior, that is, participation. Finally, through the processes of empathy and helping behavior, the participants experienced digital citizenship and learn about their role as democratic citizens in society.
