국문 초록

본 논문은 자크 라캉의 ‘욕망’이론 중 ‘폐제’(Foreclosure, 閉除)개념에 대한 고찰을 통해 영상문화에서 ‘폐제’가 어떠한 양상으로 드러나는지를, 그리고 그 흔적들을 추적해 봄으로써 영상작품을 이해하는 단초를 제공하고자 하는 목적을 가진다. 이 연구 목적을 논의하기 위해서 본 논문은 두 부분으로 나누어 연구를 진행하였다. 첫째, 지그문트 프로이트의 '오이디푸스 콤플렉스'와 자크 라캉의 '욕망' 이론을 고찰하였고, 둘째, 라캉의 ‘폐제’의 개념을 바탕으로 이고르 코발로프의 <창가의 새> 시나리오와 ‘폐제’된 캐릭터들을 분석하였다. 연구방법으로는 이론적 고찰을 위해서 프로이드 ‘오이디프스 콤플렉스’와 라캉의 ‘욕망’이론에 관련 문헌을 1차 연구 자료로 삼았다. 덧붙여 선행 연구와 그 외 출판물들, 비평적 자료 등을 보조 텍스트로 참고하였다. 이론 연구를 기반으로 이고르 코발로프의 작품세계의 분석을 병행하여 해석적 결론을 도출하였다. 작품분석 결과, <창가의 새>를 관통하고 있는 주제가 라캉의 ‘욕망’이론 중 ‘폐제’의 개념에 맞닿아 있으며, 작품 속 ‘폐제’된 남성 캐릭터들이 어떻게 주체를 약화시키는지를 보여주고 있다. 즉 ‘아버지의 이름’의 배척에 따라 침묵하고 있던 기표로서 인간 군상들을 묘사하고 있는 것이다. 이는 박제된 현실(상징계)에 갇혀 있는 우리의 모습을 우회적으로 경고하는 것이고, 상징계 너머에 ‘실재’를 드러내는 것이다.

영문 초록

This thesis aims to study the concept of ‘the foreclosure’ from Jacques Lacan's theory and to pay attention to how this aspect is revealed in video culture. It aims to provide a better understanding of the topic by tracing the traces of ‘the foreclosure’. To discuss the aforementioned research objectives, this research paper is comprised of two main chapters. The first chapter defines comparative analysis of Sigmund Freud‘s ’Oedipus complex’ and Jacque Lacan’s “Desire”. In the second chapter analyze two male characters features of based on these theories. The main method of this article is to analyze the books and periodicals about two theories. Additionally, literatures including precedent studies, other publications and critics would be taken as a second text. An interpretive conclusion was drawn by analyzing Igor Kovalov’s animation based on theoretical research. As a result of the analysis of the work, when the theme penetrating is interpreted based on the concept of ‘the foreclosure’ in Lacan's theory of ‘desire’, a multi-layered perspective is presented and reveals the meaning of ‘desire’. This Study shows how the male characters through ‘the foreclosure’ appeared at Igor Kovalyov‘s work, weakens the subject. The theme that penetrates the work is a signifier that has been silent following the rejection of ‘Name of Father’, which indirectly warns us that we are trapped in a stuffed reality(the Symbolic) through human groups, and reveals the Real beyond the symbolic world.
