현대시에 나타난 ‘서울’ 연구

국문 초록

공간은 인간의 삶과 불가분의 관계다. 단순히 물리적 공간으로써 기능하는 것이 아니라 구체적인 삶의 의미 형성에까지 그 영향을 미친다. 일상에서의 공간이 어떤 방식으로든 우리 삶을 간섭하듯 시의 공간은 원체험의 토대를 마련하여 시인의 욕망을 제약하거나 실현시킨다. 시와 공간은 인간의 삶의 방식을 다룬다는 측면에서 동일하다. 시에서 나타난 공간은 현실적 공간이나 기하학적 공간이 아니라 인간의 감각기관과 지각기제의 도움으로 내재화된 공간, 즉 체험된 공간이다. 따라서 문학작품에 내포된 공간은 작가의 세계관과 현실인식이 반영되는 주요한 구성요소 중의 하나로 파악되어야만 한다. 이 글에서 관심을 가지고 있는 도시공간의 대표적인 상징인 서울은 시인들의 삶과 인식의 중요한 기반이 되었다. 강제적으로 급조된 도시화는 광복 이후 정치, 경제, 문화의 중심지 역할을 맡았던 서울을 더욱 비대하게 만들어 도시의 한 기표이자 기의의 역할까지 맡기에 이르렀다.전후 명동과 그 영욕의 역사를 이어간 종로를 중심으로 우리의 욕망과 투쟁을 형상화한 시를 찾아보았고, 60년대 이후 이촌향도가 연출하는 서울에서의 공포와 절망을 비대하고 권력화 된 서울, 더 이상 새로운 생명을 피워낼 수 없는 거세된 무생물적인 서울의 모습으로 살펴보았다. 더불어 고갈된 서울에서 다시 따뜻한 정서를 퍼 올리려는 노력인 공존의 문제를 다루어보았다. 이와 같이 전후부터 현재까지 서울을 물리적 공간으로 설정한 시를 중심으로 서울의 다양한 모습과 의미를 살펴본 것이다.

영문 초록

Space has an inevitable relation with human life. It does not simply functions as a simple physical space, but influences even the meaning formation of a concrete life. As space intervenes in our life in whatever way, poetic space sets a round type of foundation, restricts pr embodies a poet's desire. Poetry and space are same in that they address human lifestyle. The space showing up in poetry is not a realistic or a geometric one, but an internalized by the help of human sensory or perceptive organs, that is, an experienced one. Thus, the space included at literary works should be grasped as one of main components reflecting the author's view of the world and recognition of the reality. The typical symbol of a city space dealt with in this article, Seoul has become the vital base of poets' life and perception. Coercively coined urbanization has enlarged Seoul charged with the central role of politics, economy and culture since the liberation, even leading it to play a symbolic and benchmarking role of the city. At pre and post-war, this article looked for the poems figuring our desire and strife focusing on Jongro testifying to the history of Myung-dong and honor, and explored the picture of Seoul powered with fright and depression, so castrated as not to breed a new life. In addition, the article addressed the issue of con-existence, an effort to pour up warm emotions in the exhausted Seoul. Likewise, the article looked over the various shapes and meanings of Seoul focusing on the city set as a physical space.
