국문 초록

이 글은 한국의 근현대 민중역사 특히 민중항쟁사에서 정의 개념의 발전과정을 고찰하는 것이다. 근현대 한국 민중항쟁사에서 특히 대표적 상징사건으로서 다섯 가지를 선별하여 주제 시각에서 성찰하였다. 다섯 가지 대표적 민중항쟁사건으로 동학혁명, 3.1독립운동, 제주 4.3사건, 4.19혁명, 군사정부 기간 사건들 중에서 3.1민주구국선언 사건과 5.18광주민주화 운동을 조명했다. 민중항쟁사에서 살펴본 정의 개념은 생명가치존엄, 인간평등권, 국가권력과 경제권력의 탈신성화 그리고 지구 지속가능한 생태학적 윤리의 실현 등이다.

영문 초록

This article is a study on the development of the idea of Justice in Korean Minjung history. For this study, five important historical events are selected from many Minjung events that happened during modern Korean history (1960-2020). For this study, I concentrate my research on the point of the basic problematic tension between the power and vocational element in modern national-capitalictic life. Since the Industrial Revolution, modern nation and capitalism have strengthened their power to control over the individual persons, especially over the powerless Minjung. Finally nationalism and capitalism consummate quasi-religious functions. If their quasi-religious claim is only a claim to uncontrolled politico-capitalistic power, it is demonic and self-destructive. Sometimes the sacred and inviolable nation and capital kill Minjung recklessly, even committing a great massacre. Korean Minjung's Idea of justice may be condensed like maintaining the dignity of human beings, the desacralization of political power, impartial fairness of governance, sharing profits for communal life, and sustainableecological ethics.
