비대면 e-PBL을 적용한 상업공간디자인 수업 사례 연구

국문 초록

최근 비대면 원격 교육에 대한 활용은 그 범위를 넓혀 가고 있고 온라인 교육이 COVID-19시대 뉴노멀로 되기 위해서 본 연구는 문제 중심학습으로 알려진 기존의 PBL 수업에서 나아가 전면 온라인 학습환경의 e-PBL 교수법을 실내디자인 전공 수업에 적용하여 문제 제시를 통한 해결 방법을 디자인적 제안으로 이끌어내고자 하였다. 연구에서는 e-PBL 적용이 적합하다고 판단되는 실내디자인과 디자인 스튜디오 과목 특성에 맞게 설계하여 실질적인 활용으로 이루어질 수 있도록 e-PBL을 적용하였다. 이는 비대면 원격교육이 하나의 수업 방법으로 자리매김하고 있음을 인지하고 향후 더 발전가능성을 한다는 것에 목적이 있다. 연구의 대상은 실내디자인과 2학년 학생이며, 상업공간디자인 이론과 실습을 병행하는 과목으로 학생들이 팀을 이루어 프로젝트를 진행하고 최종 발표를 통해 평가 후 학기를 마무리한다. e-PBL을 통한 디자인 프로젝트 수업 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기존의 스튜디오 수업 방식에 비해 학습자의 능력별 편차를 극복하여 부담감을 덜어주며, 현실적으로 구현되는 실무적인 상황과 교수자가 제시하는 디자인 문제중심으로 과제가 진행됨으로써 학습자들이 보다 능동적 태도를 보여주었다. 둘째, 디자인 툴 활용에 대한 e-PBL에 대한 적응 시간이 길어질수록 학습자의 만족도가 커졌으며, e-PBL 과제 수행계획서 작성을 통한 문제해결은 이론수업과 실기수업 모두에게서 매우 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, e-PBL을 위해 기본적으로 소규모 팀 기반 활동이 활성화될 수 있도록 플랫폼 및 온라인 제작 도구의 다양성, 온라인 학습에서의 협력 합승 및 상호작용 촉진 등의 노하우 등 행정적, 환경적 지원이 되어 학생과 교수자의 동기를 부여할 필요성을 가지게 되었다. 이 연구를 통해 e-PBL 활용이 디자인 스튜디오 교과목에서 온라인 원격교육의 주요한 교수학습방법임을 제시한 것에 연구의 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Recently, the use of non-face-to-face remote education has been expanding, and in order for online education to become a new normal in the COVID-19 era, this study attempted to draw a solution through presentation of problems by applying e-PBL teaching in indoor design classes. e-PBL was applied so that it could be designed according to the characteristics of indoor design and design studio subjects and made practical use. This aims to recognize that non-face-to-face remote education is establishing itself as a teaching method and to supplement further development in the future. The subject of the study is a second-year student in the Department of Interior Design, and students form a team to conduct projects and complete the semester after the final presentation. The results of the design project class through e-PBL are as follows. First, compared to the existing studio teaching method, learners showed a more active attitude by overcoming the deviation by learner s ability to ease the burden and focusing on practical situations that are realized in reality and design problems presented by instructors. Second, the longer the adaptation time to e-PBL for the use of design tools, the greater the satisfaction of learners, and problem-solving through the preparation of e-PBL task performance plans was found to be very effective in both theoretical and practical classes. Third, it is necessary to motivate students and instructors with administrative and environmental support such as diversity of platform and online production tools, and know-how such as promoting cooperation and interaction in online learning so that small team-based activities can be activated. Through this study, the study is meaningful in that it suggested that the use of e-PBL is a major teaching and learning method for online remote education in design studio subjects.
