국문 초록

불규칙한 수열의 시각화는 우연적 패턴양식을 추출하는 좋은 소재가 될 뿐만 아니라, 수를 시각화한다는 것은 그 자체로 미학과 전산학의 융합으로도 의미를 지니게 된다. 본 연구는 수의 시각화라는 일방적인 방법론을 넘어서 형태의 생성 원리에 기반한 양방향의 구조적 방식을 제시하고자 시작되었다. 이를 위해, 0부터 9까지의 정수를 2쌍의 사각형 격자로 시각화하여, 화소(pixel) 단위로 이루어진 래스터 이미지를 추출하는 과정을 통해 구조의 전이를 설명하고, 역순의 작업을 통해 디지털 이미지에서 수의 개념을 복원함으로써 형태생성의 기본원리인 전이와 회복력을 수행하는 결과를 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 수의 복원뿐 아니라 임의의 디지털 이미지의 정수표현이 가능하였으며, 방대한 양의 이미지 처리와 일부 구조적 오류의 해결이 필요한 것으로 나타났으나, 이는 전산학 분야와의 협업으로 충분히 해결될 것으로 예상한다.

영문 초록

Visualization of irregular sequences is not only a good material for extracting accidental patterns, but visualization of numbers itself has meaning as a collaboration of aesthetics and computer science. This study was started to present a two-way structural method based on the generative theory of shape beyond the one-sided methodology of number visualization. To this end, the transition of the structure was explained through the process of extracting a raster image composed of pixels by visualizing integers from 0 to 9 as two pairs of square grids. In this way, the results of performing transfer and recoverability, which are the basic generative theory of shape, were derived. As a result of the study, it was possible not only to restore numbers, but also to express integers in arbitrary digital images. In addition, it was found that processing a large amount of images and solving some structural errors were required, but this is expected to be sufficiently resolved through collaboration with the field of computer science.
