국문 초록

의사결정 과정에서 직관적인 사고는 빠르고 노력이 적게 든다는 이점을 가지고 있지만, 시간할인(Temporal discounting)과 같은 편향을 유발할 가능성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 3개 문항으로 구성된 인지 성찰 검사(Cognitive Reflection Test: CRT)의 확장판인 CRT-Long과 금액 선택 질문지(Monetary Choice Questionnaire; MCQ)를 사용하여 직관적 사고의 경향과 시간 할인의 관계를 탐색하였다. 또한 보상의 크기와 보상 지급 시기의 제시 방법에 따라 직관적 사고 경향과 시간 할인 사이의 관계의 변화가 있는지 탐색했다. 연구 결과, 직관적 사고 경향이 높은 집단에서 낮은 집단보다 유의미하게 큰 시간 할인이 나타났다. 이러한 경향은 보상의 크기가 작을 때, 그리고 보상 지급 시기를 날짜로 제시할 때보다 지연 일수로 제시했을 때 더 명확하게 나타났다. 본 연구는 CRT-Long을 사용하여 직관적 사고 경향과 시간 할인의 관계를 탐색하였으며, 보상의 크기와 보상 지급 시기의 제시 방법에 따른 변화를 확인하였다. 이를 토대로 CRT-Long이 직관적 경향을 측정할 수 있는 도구임을 확인하였고, 직관적 사고 경향과 보상의 크기, 그리고 보상 시기의 제시 방법(날짜 또는 지연)에 따라 시간 할인을 다르게 예측할 수 있음을 확인한 데에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Intuitive thinking makes decision relatively quick with less effort and has been reported to be associated with cognitive biases such as temporal discounting. An extended version of the cognitive reflection test (CRT-Long) and the monetary choice questionnaire (MCQ) were utilzed to investigate relationship between a tendency of intuitive thinking and the degree of temporal discounting. In addition, the relationship between a tendency of intuitive thinking and the degree of temporal discouting would vary depending on the magnitude of reward and the way of presenting when the reward is given. The results showed those with a higher tendency of intuitive thinking did significantly larger temporal discounting than those with the lower one. Especially, the degree of temporal discounting increased when presented with higher reward and with the number of delayed days instead of the specific date. Findings of this study demonstrated that a tendency of intuitive thinking can be measured with CRT-Long. In addition, temporal discounting would be predicted by the way of presenting reward (either delayed days or specific date) and the magnitude of reward.
