초등 전문상담교사의 교직적응에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

연구목적 본 연구는 팬데믹 상황에 발령받은 초임 초등 전문상담교사의 교직적응 과정을 연구하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구방법 본 연구에서는 초임 초등학교 전문상담교사 6인을 심층 인터뷰하고 현상학적 연구방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 코로나19 상황에 발령받은 신규 초등 전문상담교사는 ‘대면 소통 축소로 인한 교내 구성원과의 협력의 어려움’,‘활성화된 비대면 상담⋅교육활동의 어려움’,‘불확실한 상황 증가에 따른 상담활동 관련 어려움’을 겪고 있다. 이들은 어려움을 극복하기 위하여 다음과 같은 대처를 하였다. 이는 ‘교내 구성원과의 소통기회 확대하기’,‘비대면 학습기회와 온라인 커뮤니티를 통하여 전문성 신장하기’,‘팬데믹으로 인한 교직적응의 어려움에 심리적으로 대처하기’의 의미단위로 나타났다. 결론 연구 결과를 바탕으로 코로나19와 같은 재난상황에서의 학교상담을 고려한 두 가지 시사점을 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 초임 상담교사를 위한 체제적 지원의 필요성이다. 둘째, 초임 상담교사를 위한 학교상담에서의 일관된 가이드라인의 필요성이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: During the COVID-19 Pandemic, there have been formidable changes in the area of education. This study was conducted to explore the process of teaching professional adjustment of beginning elementary school counselors in their induction period, which coincides with the era of COVID-19. Methods: Six elementary school counselors who started their teaching profession during 2020~2021 were interviewed and the result was analyzed by phenomenological method. Results: According to the study, they suffered from following 3 sub-topics:‘Hardships of collaborating with other members of the school due to lack of face-to-face communication’,‘Difficulties with activated non face-to-face counseling and teaching’ and ‘Difficulties with counseling due to uncertain circumstances’. There were 3 sub-topics derived from how they coped with their hardships.‘Extending communication opportunities with the school members’,‘Developing profession by non face-to-face learning and online communities’and ‘Using psychological strategies when coping with difficulties in their process of professional adaptation’. Conclusion: Two major implications were drawn from the conclusion concerning school counseling in disaster situations like COVID-19 Pandemic. First, the necessity of systemic support for beginning elementary school counselors. Second, the need for coherent guidelines for beginning elementary school counselors.
