미술교과서 개발을 위한 학습자 의견 반영의 필요성과 개선방향 탐구

국문 초록

연구목적 본 연구는 실사용자인 학생의 의견을 반영하지 않는 미술교과서 제작 문제해결 연구의 일환으로 교육과정 개정에 따른 미술교과서 내용체제 및 외형체제 개선의 방향을 제시하며 학습자의 선택권과 자율성을 강화하는 동시에 미술교과서를 효과적으로 활용하는 데에 목적을 둔다. 연구방법 문헌연구를 통해 분석 기준을 설정하였으며 의도표집(purposive sampling)과 단순무작위 방식으로 연구대상자 24명을 선정하였다. SPSS 분석에 따라 필요 사전학습을 진행하였고, 학습자의 분석 자료로는 2015 개정 교육과정 중등학교 인정 미술교과서 14종을 제시하여 자유롭게 비교⋅분석하도록 하였다. 수집된 자료는 자료 분석 기준은 ‘교육과정의 준수’, ‘내용의 선정 및 조직’, ‘내용의 정확성 및 공정성’, ‘외형체재’에 따라 분석⋅분류하였다. 연구결과 외형체재 개선에 학습자의 경험과 의견이 반드시 반영되어야 할 필요성, 실사용자들인 디지털 세대의 시대정신과 생활반경 반영의 필요성, 내용의 정확성 및 공정성 기준 강화 및 추가적인 심의 절차의 필요성, 교과서 학습활동과 현장 상황과의 괴리와 격차를 완화 필요성을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론 본 연구는 미술교과서의 낮은 현장 활용도를 고려하여 학생의 인지 수준을 고려한 미술교과서의 적합성을 고찰하고 새로운 관점을 제시하는 자료로서 의의가 있다. 학생의 의견 반영이 교과서의 현장활용도와 학습영향력을 높인다는 점을 확인할 수 있었으며 도출된 결과와 개선방향을 초석삼아 수업운용, 학습자료의 제작, 선택, 개선 등 다양한 후속 연구를 기대할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to demonstrate the significance of students’ perspectives on art textbook development and revisions as actual users who suggest practical directions for effective use of art textbooks in class while increasing those availability. Methods: Twenty four participants were selected through purposive sampling and before the study, educational prerequisites were conducted regarding scholastic suitability with SPSS V28. Qualitative research was carried out with fourteen different government-approved art textbooks from the 2015 Revised National Curriculum. Literature reviews on the textbook system illustrated four criteria to classify and to analyze the collected data: observance of the National Curriculum; selection and composition of contents; accuracy and fairness of the contents; and appearance and design of the textbooks. Results: The findings indicate that reflection on students opinions for textbook design is significant because of their authentic textbook experience, which officials never take into account. Also, it suggest deep consideration of the digital generation’s media preference tendency, strengthening the screening process for the fairness of content, and deliberate choice of materials for learning activities included in the books in reference to real conditions at schools. Conclusion: Students’ practical experiences and perspectives regarding textbooks puts forth new views on what should be considered for art textbooks’s better usability that has been cast aside or ignored. It improves the motivation for teaching and learning and leads to diverse follow-up studies concerning learning materials, subjects, learning-teaching methods, and educational policies.
