국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 대규모 중학교에서 초임 특수교사가 겪은 교직 경험을 자문화기술지를 통해드러내고 사회문화적 의미를 찾아 교육적 시사점을 제시하는 데 있다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 연구자는 4년 동안의 기억자료, 학급일지, 상담일지, 인터뷰 전사본, 연구주제와 관련된 다양한 문화적 인공물 등을 수집하였고, 실용적 절충주의에 기초한 포괄적 분석절차에 따라 분석하였다. 연구자는 대규모 중학교에서 처음 교직 생활을 하며 특수교사로서의 정체성과 역할에 혼란을 느꼈고 통합교육 실효성에 대한 의문을 가지기도 하였다. 이는 특수교육이 익숙하지 않아특수교사에게 일임하는 관리자와 특수교육이 눈에 들어올 여유가 없는 일반교사, 스트레스 받는 삶 속에서 끊임없이 자녀의 교육권을 위해 목소리를 내야 하는 학부모, 도움 받는 역할에 익숙해져 수동적인 존재가 되어 버린 특수교육대상학생과 통합교육의 일환으로 양보와 배려를 강요받았던 비장애학생에 이르기까지의 다양한 시선이 혼재된 문화에서 비롯되었다. 이러한 연구자의 경험을 사회문화적 차원에서 바라보았을 때, 그 핵심에는 입시 위주 교육 풍토 속에서 일반학교 내에 존재하는 ‘일반교육과 특수교육 사이의 지나치게 분명한 경계’가 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 통합교육의 의미에 대한 합의가 이루어져야 함과 동시에 특수교육을 둘러싼여러 구성원의 인식 전환이 필요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to unveil the teaching experience experienced by special education teachers in large-scale general middle schools through self-cultivation and technology magazines, and to find the meaning in social culture and to give implications to special education. To achieve the purpose of this study, the researcher collected 4-year of memory data, class diaries, counseling diaries, interview transcriptions, and various cultural artifacts related to the research subject, and analyzed them, using a comprehensive analysis procedure based on pragmatic eclecticism. As a first-time special education teacher, the researcher felt confused about the identity and role as a special education teacher while teaching at a large-scale middle school, and had doubt about the effectiveness of inclusive education. This seems to come from the mixed culture of various viewpoints, from managers who are unfamiliar with special education and general teachers who can not afford to managing special education, parents who are living a stressful life where they have to constantly speak out for their children’s right to education, students with disabilities, becoming passive as they are so accustomed to getting help, and non-disabled students who were forced to make way and be considerate as part of integrated education. Looking at the experiences of these researchers from a socio-cultural perspective, it is concluded that there is an ‘excessively clear boundary between general education and special education’ existing at general schools. Based on the results of this study, it was suggested that consensus on the meaning of inclusive education should be reached and it was necessary to change the perception of various members regarding special education.
