국문 초록

본 연구는 연구자가 성장해온 가부장적 환경에서 어떻게 수치심이 형성되었고 수치심을 극복하는 과정은 어떠한지 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 역기능적 수치심에 매몰된 내담자를 깊이 있게 이해하고 접근할 수 있는 상담적·교육적 함의를 제시하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 연구자의 기억자료, 지도교수와의 면담 전사본, 기록자료 등의 자료를 수집하였다. 자료를 지속적으로 검토하면서 분석하였고, 주요한 범위를 도출하였다. 연구 결과 가부장적인 환경에서 자연스러운 모습을드러내는 것이 억압되면서 자기를 부끄러워하게 된다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 자신을 수치스럽게느끼게 되면서 자기를 나타내는 대상에 대한 부정적 측면에도 수치심을 경험하게 된다. 이것이환경적 변화와 역할의 전환으로 자신을 새롭게 경험할 기회를 가지게 되면서 자기에 대한 인식의 긍정적 변화로 이어진다. 또한 가부장적 환경에서 경험한 수치심의 극복과정을 자문화기술지로 연구하는 것은 자기에 대한 이해를 다각적인 차원으로 확장해 주었고, 자각하지 못하고 있었던 욕구와 연결되도록 도와주었다. 이 연구가 가부장적 환경에서 자신의 모습을 억누르면서자기를 적절하지 못하게 여기며 살아가는 이들이 수치심을 이해하고 극복하는 데에 기여하기를기대한다

영문 초록

This study reviewed how shame was built in the patriarchal environments in which the researcher has grown and how the researcher overcame it. To fulfill this study purpose, the researcher suggested consultative and educational implications to deeply understand and empathize with clients immersed in dysfunctional shame. In order to achieve the purpose of study, the researcher’s memory data, interview data with supervisors, record data were collected. With continued analysis on the data, the researcher drew the major categories. The results of the study are as follows. The researcher realized that I became to feel ashamed of myself as I was oppressed and forced not to express myself. As I felt ashamed of myself, the researcher had the experience of feeling ashamed of the negative aspects of the things that I can express my identity with. This turned into positive changes in perceptions on myself, as the researcher had the opportunity to re-experience myself with environmental change and role change and this gave the opportunity to have new experience with the changed environments and roles. Studying the process of overcoming shame experienced in a patriarchal circumstances through autoethnography helped extend understanding of myself to various dimensions and helped me find the connections to the needs that I wasn’t aware of. This study is expected to contribute to understanding and overcoming shame people had for themselves, who have been living, repressing themselves, thinking that they were inappropriate.
