국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중학교 1학년을 대상으로 읽기와 쓰기 능력의 상관관계를 분석하는 것이다.이를 위해 표준화된 읽기 검사 결과와 학생 글을 채점한 결과를 분석하였다.연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째,읽기와 쓰기 능력은 낮은 수준의 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.선행연구와 상반된 결과가 나타난 이유를 읽기와 쓰기 능력의 발달 정도 차이,읽기 능력을 쓰기 과정에서 활용하지 못하는 점 등으로 찾아 보았다.둘째,남학생에 비해 여학생의 읽기와 쓰기 능력이 유의미한 상관관계를 보이는 경우가 많았다.셋째,읽기 성취 수준 보다 쓰기 성취 수준에 따라서 읽기와 쓰기 능력의 상관계수가 유의미한 경우가 많았다.넷째,부적 상관계수를 통해 읽기와 쓰기 발달이 비례하지 않으면서 연속적이지도 않다는 사실을 알 수 있었다.다섯째,정의적 요소·사회문화적 요소에 따른 상관관계는 학교와 가정의 역할을 간접적으로 보여주었다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to analyze the correlation between reading and writing abilities of students in the first grade of middle school(13 years old). This study analyzed the results of standardized reading tests and scores of student writing. The results revealed a slight correlation between reading and writing ability, which contradicted previous studies that reported a high correlation between reading and writing. This may be related to differences in the developmental level of reading and writing ability and the use reading ability during the writing process. There was a significantly stronger correlation between the reading and writing abilities of female students compared to male students. The correlation coefficient between reading and writing ability was significant according to the writing achievement level than reading achievement level. The negative correlation coefficient indicated that the development of reading and writing was not proportional or continuous. The correlation according to affective factors and socio-cultural factors indirectly demonstrated the role of school.
