石泉 申綽의 『尙書百篇攷』에 대한 小考

국문 초록

石泉 申綽(1760~1828)은 조선후기 경학자 중 한 명으로 『詩次故』・『書次故』・『易次故』를 저술하여 자신의 경학사상을 밝혔다. 그는 漢・唐대의 저술들을 활용하여경전을 고증학적 방법으로 연구하였다. 본고에서는 신작이 1825년 저술한 『尙書百篇攷』를 연구대상으로 삼아 ｢書序｣에 대한 그의 견해를 살펴보았다.신작은 ｢서서｣를 연구하면서 한・당 이전의 문헌과 선현들의 주석을 제시하는 방법을 사용하였으며, 일부 자신의 의견을 드러내기도 하였다. 그는 ｢서서｣의 신빙성이나 진위 여부에 대해 논변하기보다는 ｢서서｣ 자체에 집중하여 연구하였다. 그리하여 ｢서서｣가 伏生 이전부터 있었으며, 『今文尙書』와 『古文尙書』에 각 1편씩 있었다고 보았다.신작은 기본적으로 鄭玄의 의견을 따라 ｢서서｣의 편차를 구성하였다. 그러면서도『史記』 등을 통하여 ｢太戊｣가 있었음을 주장하였고 ｢咸乂｣와 ｢태무｣의 편수에 대해서도 자신만의 의견을 제시하였다. 逸書 중에서 ｢서서｣가 해당 편의 내용을 밝히지 못하거나 부족할 경우 해당 편의 경문을 복원하거나, 내용을 보충하여 해당 편의 내용을 구체적으로 밝히고자 하였다.이상의 논의를 통해, 신작이 고증학적 방법을 활용하여 ｢서서｣를 연구한 내용을 『상서백편고』에 저술하였음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그의 이러한 연구는 『상서백편고』의 저술 목적이 최종적으로 『상서』의 복원에 있음을 보여주고 있다.

영문 초록

Seokcheon Shin Jak(1760-1828) was a Confucian scholar in the late Joseon Dynasty and authored books such as 『Shichago(詩次故)』, 『 Seochago(書次故)』, and 『Yeokchago(易次故) to reveal his Confucian thoughts. His a person who utilized exegetical studies of the Han Dynasty to research scriptures using documental archaeology methods. This study examines the 『Shangshu-Baekpyeongo(尙書百篇攷)』 that Shin Jak wrote in 1825 to investigate his opinions on ｢Shuxu(書序)｣. While research ｢Shuxu｣, Shin Jak used the method of presenting footnotes of literature and sages prior to Han(漢) and Tang(唐) Dynasty of China and also revealed some of his opinions. Rather than discussing about the credibility or authenticity of ｢Shuxu｣, his research focused on ｢Shuxu｣ itself. Therefore, it was viewed that ｢Shuxu｣ existed prior to Fu Sheng(伏生) and that there were one editions each in 『Jinwen Shangshu(今文尙書)』 and 『Guwen Shangshu(古文尙書)』. Shin Jak basically followed the opinion of Zheng Xuan(鄭玄) for the compilation of ｢Shuxu｣, but claimed that there was ｢Taemu(太戊)｣ through 『Shiji(史記)』 and presented his opinion on the number of issues of ｢Hamye(咸乂)｣ and ｢Taemu｣. In the case of Ilseo, when the contents of ｢Shuxu｣ Ilseo could not be revealed or was deficient, the sutras of the corresponding edition were restored, or the contents were supplemented to reveal in detail the contents of the corresponding edition. Through such discussions, Shin Jak utilized documental archaeology methods in 『Shangshu-Baekpyeongo』 to write the contents on his research of ｢Shuxu｣. His research shows that final objective of writing the 『Shangshu-Baekpyeongo』 was to restore 『Shangshu』.
