정상 노인여성과 성인여성의 정량적 뇌파 비교분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 정상 노인여성과 성인여성의 뇌파에 차이가 있는지와 정량적인 뇌파분석을 이용해 인지기능저하를 확인할 수 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상자는 부산지역에 거주하며 뇌질환이 없고 간이정신상태검사-한국판(MMSE-K) 점수가 24점 이상인 노인여성 27명과 부산지역 S 대학교에 재학 중인 성인여성 27명이었다. 뇌파는 무선뇌파측정기(Nihonkhoden Inc., Japan)를 이용해서 측정하였으며, 주파수대에 따라 θ 파 (4~7Hz), α 파 (8~13Hz), SMR 파 (12~15Hz), 저빈도 β 파 (14~20Hz), 고빈도 β 파 (21~40Hz)로 나누었다. 폐안 안정 상태에서 5분 간 측정한 자료 가운데 잡파가 가장 적은 부분의 20초 자료를 이용해 맨-휘트니 검정을 실시한 결과 뇌파 전체의 진폭은 전두영역에서 노인여성이 성인여성에 비해 높았다. 주파수 대역별 변화를 보면 θ파와 α파는 두 군 간에 차이가 없었던 반면 SMR 파는 전두영역에서, 저빈도 β 파는 전두영역과 두정영역에서, 고빈도 β 파 역시 전두영역과 두정영역에서 노인여성이 성인여성에 비해 더 높았다. 결과적으로 노인여성과 성인여성의 뇌파는 차이가 있으며, 정량적인 뇌파분석을 이용해 인지기능저하를 확인할 가능성이 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study is to find out the differences of EEG between the normal elderly and the adult women and to investigate the potential of quantitative electroencephalogram (EEG) analysis for diagnosis of cognitive impairment. Fifty-four normal women (27 elderly, 27 adults) without history of brain disease were participated in this study. EEG of the subjects were measured continuously for 5 minutes while subjects’ eyes were closed. However, EEG which was used were a data which was measured for 20 second with a little artifacts. The EEG were divided frequency band as the θ wave (4~7㎐), the α wave (8~13㎐), the SMR wave (12~15㎐), the low β wave (14~20㎐), the high β wave (21~40㎐). The differences in EEG between the groups were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test and the SPSSWIN (ver. 19.0) program. In the results, total amplitude of EEG in the elderly women was higher than the adult women. In the case of frequency band, the θ wave and the α wave were not different between the groups. However, the SMR wave was significantly higher in the elderly than in the adult at all of frontal areas. The low β wave and the high β wave were significantly higher in the elderly at all of frontal and parietal areas. These results show that there is a difference in EEG between the groups and quantitative EEG analysis can be used for the diagnosis of cognitive impairment.
