불균형 데이터의 언더라이팅 스코어링 모형 연구

국문 초록

언더라이팅(underwriting)은 현재 모든 보험회사의 리스크(risk) 방지를 위한 가장 중요한 과정으로, 리스크 관리를 통한 수익성 개선과 건전한 고객들의 피해 방지를 위해 최근 그 중요성이 더욱 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 언더라이팅을 위한 청구 정보와 일정 시간 경과 후 보험금 지급 여부 데이터를 이용하여, 보험 지급금 예상 계약 건을 예측하는 모형을 개발하는 방법을 설명하고 있다. 특히, 언더라이팅 지급예측 모형을 개발할 때 필연적으로 발생하는 목표 변수의 범주 불균형 문제를 해결하기 위해, 관심 목표 변수의 근거리 데이터 표본 추출을 이용한 방법을 소개하였다. 본 방법이 기존의 일반적인 임의 표본 추출 방법(random sampling)보다 효율적이라는 것을 실제 사례를 이용하여 검증하였다.

영문 초록

Underwriting is the most important process for the risk management of the insurance company. Especially it is getting more important because it manages the risk and improves the company profits. The most Korean insurance companies recently focus on the strength of underwriting for improving the profit of company and preventing the loss of the good customers from insurance fraud. Especially, this paper proposes the effective sampling method for making the significant mining model in the imbalanced data sets. The proposed sampling method extracts the nearest neighbour samples from small class of target variable using the Euclidian distance of K-means cluster analysis. In this paper, we showed the proposed sampling method is superior to the random sampling at the accuracy ratio of modeling and very useful for practical insurance underwriting.
