보건교사들의 응급피임약에 대한 지식, 태도 및 장애요인

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 보건교사들의 응급피임약에 대한 지식과 태도 및 응급피임약에 대한 교육을 위한 장애요인을 조사하기 위함이다. 서울과 경기에 위치한 고등학교 중 편의추출된 123곳의 보건교사 123명에게 자가보고 질문지를 사용하여 조사하였다. 대상자들의 평균연령은 42.89 8.06세 이었고, 보건교사 경력은 평균 14.16 9.05년(범위 1~34년)이었다. 연구결과 보건교사들의 응급피임약에 대한 지식은 평균 8.52점(범위 0~12), 태도는 2.65점(범위 1~5)이었다. 참여자 중 87%가 응급피임약에 대해 더 알기를 원했다. 응급피임약에 대한 교육을 실시하고 있는 기관은 단지 53.7%이었다. 응급피임약에 대한 교육을 하는데 장애요인으로는 교과과정 시간 부족, 학교나 학부모들의 보수적인 시각, 정보 부족 등이었다. 보건교사들을 대상으로 응급피임약에 대한 교육 프로그램이 제공되어야하며, 응급피임약에 관한 교육을 저해하는 장애요인들을 최소화하기 위해 학교뿐만 아니라 정부차원에서의 노력과 지원이 요구된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore knowledge and attitude toward ECPs among school health teachers. It was also to investigate whether education on ECPs is being provided and whether any barriers to education on ECPs exist in high school. This is a cross sectional descriptive study. Data were collected from 123 high school health teachers by mail from November 10 to July 15, 2007. The mean scores of knowledge and attitude were 8.52 (range 1 to 12) and 2.65 (range 1 to 5), respectively. Most of respondents (87%) wanted to know more about ECPs. The barriers for education on ECPs were lack of time for health education due to other curriculum priority, conservative values and norms in school, parents opposition, insufficient budgets, and lack of information. This study indicates that school health teachers need to update their knowledge and develop a more positive attitude toward ECPs to fulfill their role effectively. Also, they should make every effort to educate their students about the proper use of ECPs and to eliminate existing barriers.
