국문 초록

본 연구는 한국 군 리더십 연구경향을 분석한 것이다. 2000년 이후 군 리더십 관련 논문 게재 상위 8개 학회지에서 게재된 논문 24편을 대상으로 하여 주제어, 연구목적, 리더십 개념, 연구방법, 자기 평가를 분석 하였다. 분석결과 군 리더십 연구에서 초급간부(소·중대장) 리더십과 변혁적 리더십이 가장 선호되었다. 군 리더십에 포함된 군의 특수성 및 리더십 효과성 분석을 한 논문이 58%에 이르고, 연구 방법론적으로는 양적 연구방법이 58%가 되었다. 한국 군에서 리더십은 군 조직의 효과성에 영향을 미치며, 그 중에서 변혁적 리더십이 가장 강한 영향을 미친다. 연구자들은 스스로 자신의 연구가 갖는 한계를 극복해야 한다고 서술함으로써 연구결과에 한계가 있음을 지적하였다. 앞으로 군 리더십 관련 연구는 다양한 연구방법과 내용을 활용하여 국방차원에서 육·해·공군을 아우르는 통합적인 연구가 되어야 할 것이다. 전략과 전술이 변화하고 있는 한 이에 맞는 맞춤형 리더십을 위한 새로운 이론적 연구와 실천적 연구를 병행하여 새로운 군 리더십 유형을 발견하고자 하는 노력이 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study analysis the tendency of Korean military leadership research. This paper was analyzed on 24 military leadership papers published in 8 academic journals since 2000. The analysis details are keywords, research objectives, leadership concepts, leadership styles, research methods, and self-assessments. As a result of the analysis, leadership of novice officers (small and medium generals) and transformational leadership were the most preferred among the military leadership studies. As many as 58 percent of the papers analyzed the military uniqueness and leadership effectiveness contained in military leadership, and the quantitative research method was 58 percent. Leadership in the Korean military affects the effectiveness of military organizations, among which leadership changes are strongest. The researchers themselves point out that there is a limit to their findings by stating that they should overcome the limitations of their work. From now on, military leadership should be an integrated study involving the Army, Navy and Air Force in defense by utilizing various research methods and contents. As long as strategies and tactics are changing, efforts are needed to discover a new type of military leadership, along with new theoretical and practical studies for customized leadership.
