국문 초록

다산의 장기(長鬐) 유배 초기의 시 ｢기성잡시(鬐城雜詩)｣는 그간 장기의 풍경과 장기 사람들의 생활을 묘사한 시로만 이해되어 왔다. 그런데 ｢기성잡시｣ 이면에는 다산의 두 가지 시선이 나타난다. 그것은 자기 문제에 몰두하는 자기 응시의 시선과, 자신이 대면하게 된 새로운 세계에 대한 관찰자적 시선이다. 다산은 유배지 장기에서 무료한 삶을 보내고 있는 병약한 자신을 바라본다. 이런 유배의 상황이 책을 깊이 알았기 때문이라고 생각하면서도 여전히 책에서 관심을 놓지 못 하는 자신의 모습을 시에 그려내기도 한다. 그러면서 한편으로는, 장기 여인의 말씨와 머리꾸밈새, 장기 지방의 살풍경(殺風景), 장기의 생활상과 특산물 등, 자신의 새로운 환경에도 시선을 보낸다. 이런 향내(向內)와 향외(向外)의 두 가지 시선은, 유배객의 울울함과 향수 속에서도 자중하는 다산의 정서를 드러내는 한편, 교화의 대상으로 파악하던 민(民)에 대해 관념적 인식을 벗고 새로이 다가서는 다산의 모습을 그의 실증 지향적 사고와 함께 보여준다. 다산 시문학의 전모를 밝히기 위해서는 인생의 변곡점이었던 유배기 문학에 나타난 다산의 정서도 규명해야 하며, 유배기 문학으로 통칭되는 것 가운데 장기 유배기의 문학에도 따로 관심을 가져야 한다. 그런 점에서 이 연구는 장기 유배기 시를 대상으로 초기부터 순차적으로 다산의 정서를 재구해 보는 그 첫걸음이라 하겠다.

영문 초록

｢Giseongjapsi (鬐城雜詩)｣ is the poems in the early days of Dasan’s Janggi(長鬐) exile period, and has been understood only as a poetry describing the landscape of Janggi and the lives of the Janggi people. But behind ｢Giseongjapsi｣, two gazes of Dasan appear. The one is the gaze of his own stare that is immersed in his own issues and the other is the observer s gaze to the new world he is facing. Dasan sees himself who is sickly living a tedium life in the place of exile, Janggi. As he thought that this situation of exile is because he knew books deeply, still he portrays the appearance of himself as a poem that cannot let his interest away from books. Meanwhile, on the one hand, he also sends a gaze at his new environment, including the dialect and headdresses of Janggi women, the bleak landscape (殺風景) of Janggi region, and the lifestyle and specialties of Janggi region. These two gazes in (向內) and out (向外) of the village reveal Dasan s emotion, while revealing nostalgia and gloom of deportee, whereas they reveal Dasan s empirical-oriented thinking that removes the ideological perception of the people, who have been identified as the object of edification. To clarify the overall appearance of Dasan’s poetry, Dasan s emotion appearing in the exile period literature, which is the inflection point of life, should also be identified, and among the exile period literature collectively called, special attention should be paid to the literature of the Janggi exile period. In this sense, this study is the first step to reconstruct Dasan s emotion appearing in his poems in the Janggi exile period sequentially from the beginning.
