군집화 기법을 활용한 산업집적분석 사례 연구

국문 초록

세계화와 정보화가 진행될수록 지역의 의미는 축소될 것 같으나 많은 경제활동이 지리적으로 집중되는 현상은 지속되고 있다. 산업집적에 대한 충분한 실증적 분석 없이 정책 결정이 이루어지고 있는 현실에서 실제 데이터를 기반으로 입지계수를 산출하고 군집화 기법을 통해 각 지역을 그룹으로 나누고 특성과 의미를 분석한 실증연구를 통해 지역의 산업집적을 쉽게 분석할 수 있는 프레임워크를 제시한 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. ‘전국사업체조사 마이크로데이터’를 기반으로 소지역 단위로 산업대분류별 종사자 현황을 분석하여 입지계수를 산출하고, 입지계수를 관측 값으로 군집분석을 실시하였다. 군집분석 결과를 통해 군집의 명칭 및 특성을 분석하고 시각화를 하여 산업집적을 종합적으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 서울시 소지역별로 산업집적 분석을 실시한 결과 10개의 군집과 5개의 특수군집으로 분류되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 지역별 산업 분포에 관한 추가적 정보를 제공하여 참고자료로 활용할 수 있고 높은 사업체 변동과 낮은 사업체 생존율을 볼 때, 본 연구에서 제안한 산업집적 분석 프레임은 기업에서도 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.

영문 초록

As globalization and informatization progress, the meaning of the region is likely to be reduced, but the geographical concentration of many economic activities continues. In the reality that policy decisions are made without sufficient empirical analysis of industry aggregation, location coefficients are calculated based on actual data, and each region is divided into groups through clustering techniques, and regional industrial integration through empirical studies analyzing characteristics and meanings. The purpose of this study is to present a framework for easy analysis. Based on the “national company survey microdata,” the location coefficients were calculated by analyzing the status of workers by industry category in small-area units, and the cluster coefficient was analyzed using the location coefficients as observation values. The results of cluster analysis were used to analyze the names and characteristics of clusters and to visualize industrial clusters comprehensively. As a result of industrial cluster analysis by Seoul subregion, it was classified into 10 clusters and 5 special clusters. The results of this study can be used as a reference by providing additional information on the distribution of industries by region, and the industry integration analysis frame proposed in this study can be useful for companies in view of high business fluctuations and low business survival rates.
