간호대학생의 감성지능이 문화적 역량에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 간호대학생의 감성지능과 문화적 역량 간의 관계에서 다문화감수성의 매개효과를 파악하고 간호대학생의 문화적 역량을 증진시키기 위한 중재프로그램을 개발하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 시도되었다. 자료수집은 B광역시와 K시에 있는 3개 대학의 간호대학생 218명을 대상으로 일반적 특성, 감성지능, 다문화감수성, 문화적 역량을 포함한 자기기입식 설문지로 조사하였으며 자료분석은 SPSS WIN 프로그램 18.0을 사용하여 기술통계, t-검정(t-test), 일원분산분석(one-way ANOVA), Pearson 상관계수(correlation coefficients)와 위계적 회귀분석, Sobel 검정을 이용하였다. 연구결과로 감성지능, 다문화감수성과 문화적 역량 세 변수 간 유의한 상관관계가 있었고, 감성지능은 다문화감수성(β=.177, p=.008)과, 문화적 역량에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며(β=.305, p<.001) 감성지능과 문화적 역량의 관계에서 다문화감수성은 부분매개효과(β=.497, p<.001)가 있는 것으로 나타났다(Sobel test: Z=2.564, p=.010). 본 연구는 간호대학생의 문화적 역량 증진에 있어 다문화감수성의 중요성을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 본 연구결과에 따라 간호대학생의 문화적 역량을 증진시키기 위해서는 감성지능 및 다문화감수성을 증진시킬 수 있는 프로그램을 개발 및 적용할 필요성이 있다.

영문 초록

This study was performed to examine the mediating effect of multicultural sensitivity in the relationship between emotional intelligence and cultural competence. Participants were 218 students of three different nursing college which are located in B and K cities. Data were collected by self-report questionnaires, including general characteristics, emotional intelligence, multicultural sensitivity, and cultural competence. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients and hierarchical multiple regression and Sobel test for mediation were conducted using the SPSS 18.0 program. There were significant correlations among three variables, emotional intelligence, multicultural sensitivity and cultural competence. Multicultural sensitivity had a partial mediating effect (β=.497, p<.001) in the relationship between emotional intelligence and cultural competence (Sobel test: Z=2.564, p=.010). The findings suggest nursing intervention programs focusing on increasing of emotional intelligence, multicultural sensitivity are highly recommended to improve cultural competence in nursing students.
