국문 초록

효율적인 소지역 추정을 위해 다양한 Fay-Herriot 확장모형이 개발되고 있으며, 특히 기존 연구에서는 공변량의 측정오차를 고려하고 절단 다항식 기저함수를 활용한 준모수적 확장모형을 개발하였다. 그러나 절단 다항식의 기저함수를 사용하는 경우 매듭의 수가 많고 평활 파라미터가 0에 가까워지는 경우 모수 추정이 안정적이지 못하다는 연구결과가 있으며, 이에 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 방법으로 방사형 기저함수를 이용한 준모수적 회귀모형으로 확장모형을 제안하고 이를 기존 연구모형과 비교하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 측정오차 하에서 방사형 기저함수를 고려한 준모수적 Fay-Harriot 모형을 제안하기 위해 계층적 베이지안 방법을 이용하여 모형의 적합 및 모수를 추정하였으며, 다양한 상황에서의 모의실험을 통해 기존 모형과 비교하여 본 연구를 통해 개발하는 모형의 유용성을 확인하고자 하였다. 마지막으로 실증자료를 이용하여 기존 모형과 제안된 모형의 적합도를 비교하였다. 모의실험 결과에서는 분산이 커지고 매듭의 수가 많아지는 경우 본 연구에서 제안하는 모형이 기존 연구모형보다 우수함을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Various extension versions for Fay-Herriot model have been proposed and we developed semi-parametric Fay-Herriot model with the truncated polynomial basis functions under functional and structural measurement error covariate in previous our paper. However, it’s not always stable to use the truncated polynomial basis functions when the number of knots is large and the smoothing parameter close to zero. In such case, it’s known that the use of radial basis functions may be useful. Therefore we propose semi-parametric Fay-Herriot model with the radial basis functions under functional and structural measurement error covariate in this study. We use a hierarchical Bayesian approach based on the Markov chain Monte Carlo method for fitting the model and estimating parameters. Finally, we confirm the usefulness of the proposed model in this study through the simulation studies. As a result, the proposed model is more useful when the variance is large and the number of knots is large.
