「-カネル」 「-カネナイ」의 成立과 變遷過程에 관한 一考察

국문 초록

本稿は、現代日本語はもちろん、日本語教育においても学習文型とされている「-カネル」「-カネナイ」を中心に、その成立と変遷過程を究明したものである。まず「-カネル」の場合、初出と推測される用例は『万葉集』から抽出され、「待ちかねつ」「忍びかねて」などの表現としてあらわれている。そして『源氏物語』では会話文と地の文に使用された用例が確認でき、現代日本語とは異なり、会話においても多用されていたことがわかる。また、平安時代から鎌倉時代初期に成立した『住吉物語』では、丁寧に断る用法として使用された用例を初めて確認した。このことから平安時代から「-カネル」が使われていたと推測できる。また、本調査で抽出された「-カネル」の大きな特徴は、和歌において多用されていたという点である。特に中世以降の日記文学などの作品において、著者の心情をあらわす表現としての使用が多くなったことが確認でき、現代日本語「-カネル」の用法が定着していったと考えられる。さらに本調査において「-カネル」の最大頻度を示した作品は、『井原西鶴集』であった。そして、江戸時代になると、和歌だけでなく、小説類においても多様な表現と接続して使用されていったのである。他方、本調査では「-カネナイ」と同じ意味を表す「-かねず」「-かねぬ」「-かねまい」などの多様な形態の否定表現は抽出されたものの、形態上「-カネナイ」のかたちであらわれた用例は抽出されなかった。そこで 「-カネナイ」が1919年の作品から抽出されていることをふまえて、総合雑誌『太陽』のデータベースを利用してサンプル調査を行った結果、1901年の資料から用例を抽出することができた。このことから、「-カネナイ」は1919年以前にも使用されていたと推測される。

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the origin and the transition of ‘-Kaneru’ and ‘-Kanenai’, which are taught in traditional Japanese language education as well as used in the modern Japanese language. ‘-Kaneru’ was extracted from “Mannyousyu”. It was established before the beginning of the eighth century and was originally used in similarly as used in modern Japanese language today. This can be confirmed through examples used in conversational texts and other writing samples in “Genzimonogatari”. However, unlike in modern Japanese language, ‘-Kaneru’ was traditionally widely used in conversation. The first time ‘-Kaneru’ was used, it was used in a polite rejection and has been used as such since that time. One of the main findings from researching ‘-Kaneru’ is that there were many different applications used in Waka. Particularly, in the post-Middle Age works of literature, it was used to express the state of mind of the author and has since then has developed into the current usage in modern Japanese language. In this study, various forms of negative expressions have been found, such as ‘-Kanezu’, ‘-Kanenu’, and ‘-Kanemai’ (which have the same meaning as ‘-Kaneru’) but ‘-Kanenai’ was not found. ‘-Kanenai’ was used in the 1919 magazine “Taiyou”. Based on the usage in “Taiyou”, it is believed that ‘-Kanenai’, was used even before 1919. It is thought that ’nai’ was replaced by ‘mai’.
