국문 초록

이 글은 한국영화의 역사에 관한 사유가 새롭게 등장하면서 생긴 1980년대의 한 결절을 확인하고 그것의 자원 및 역학을 규명하고자 했다. 이 글은 1980년대 독립영화 그룹의 형성과 월북작가에 대한 해금(解禁)이라는 역사적 사실에 주목하고 한국영화의 창작과 비평 사이의 균형감각과 탈분과학문적 영화연구를 그 동학의 한 예로 검증했다. 이 글은 새로운 한국영화사 담론과 관련한 기존의 논의가 민족/민중 담론의 출현과 그 영향으로 단순화되는 것에 대한 다른 접근으로서 1980년대 한국영화 안팎의 다양한 사회적 접촉지대를 발견하려는 데 의의가 있다. 1980년대 독립영화 그룹의 간행물들이 반제국주의로부터 제3세계 영화운동을 거쳐 북한 및 공산권의 영화이론에 이르는 여정의 끝에 카프의 영화운동과 만나는 지점은 아무리 우연일지라도 별도의 해석이 요구된다. 이는 결국 한국영화사에 대한 새로운 담론의 출현이 역사적 자원을 소환함으로써 1980년대 독립영화의 영화사적 위치를 발명하고 비평과 창작의 균형감각을 선취하는 것임과 동시에 당대 한국사회의 민족/민중 담론의 이론적 급진성을 내화함으로써 사회운동으로 확대되는 과정이기도 했다. 접촉지대의 산물로서 새로 서술된 한국영화사는 기존의 한국영화사에 결절을 만들었을 뿐만 아니라 분과학문 사이에 존재하는 경계 자체에도 하나의 결절을 만들어 냈다. 한국영화사 담론의 1980년대식 전회는 한국영화 및 영화사를 규정해왔던 낡은 경계와 위계를 탈구축하는 접촉지대의 산물이다. 그때의 그 사건은 이후의 영화사에서 민중이 주체가 되는 영화의 역사는 더 밝혀져야 하고, 분과학문 사이의 경계는 더 무너져야 하고, 무엇보다 그때의 접촉지대에서 발견한 민중은 더욱 세분화될 필요성을 지속적으로 제기하고 있다. 이것이 1980년대에 등장한 한국영화사에 관한 사유의 결절이 갖는 현재적 의미이다.

영문 초록

This article attempts to confirm a knot of the 1980s and to examine its resources and dynamics as a result of the emergence of new discourse about the history of Korean cinema. This paper verified possibility of the formation of independent film groups in the 1980s and the Removal of ban on the North Korean artists and their works as resourses, and the balance between the creation and criticism of Korean films and the study of interdisciplinary film studies as dynamics. This paper is meaningful to discover various points of contact within and outside Korean cinema in the 1980s as another approach to the existing debate on this, which simplifies the emergence and influence of nation/people discourse. At the end of the journey from the anti-imperialism through the Third World Film Movement to the North Korean and Communist film theory in the 1980s, the independent film group s publication encounters the film movement of KAPF, however coincidentally, a separate interpretation is required. This, in turn, is the process of theorizing the historical resources of Korean independence films and expanding them into social movements by refracting the theoretical radicality of the discourse of nation, people, and democracy in contemporary Korean society. Korean film history, newly described as a product of contact zones, not only created knots in Korean film history, but also created a nodule in the boundaries between the disciplines. The incident then revealed that the history of the film, which is the subject of the masses in later film history, should be further revealed, the boundaries between the disciplines of science and science should be further broken down, and above all, the people found in the contact zone at that time need to be further subdivided. It continues to raise. This is the current meaning of the knot of Korean film history that appeared in the 1980s.
