자원봉사 담론의 형성과 변화 과정에 대한 연구 시론

국문 초록

본 연구는 이천년대 이후 한국의 자원봉사 현상에 대해 담론 분석의 시안을 시도한 것이다. 특히 자원봉사활동기본법 제정 전후를 중심으로, 우리 사회의 자원봉사 담론의 변천 과정과 그 의미는 무엇인지 질적으로 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 Fairclough의 비판적 담론 분석의 개념과 우아영의 분석 방법을 적용하여 시론을 전개하였다. 본격적인 연구 수행을 위해서는 방대한 자료 수집과 분석이 오랜 기간 이루어져야 할 것이므로, 이와 같은 연구의 방법에 대한 타당성 점검을 위해 본 연구 시안을 작성하고 부분적인 분석의 결과와 예시를 제시하였다. 2000년대 한국 사회에서 자원봉사에 관한 담론의 형성과 변화의 내용과 의미는 무엇인가를 연구질문으로 삼아 다음과 같은 내용에 주안점을 두었다. 첫째, 자원봉사활동기본법 제정과정을 포함한 자원봉사 담론의 범위, 둘째, 자원봉사 담론의 흐름 추적, 셋째, 자원봉사 담론의 사회적, 정치적 의미를 파악하고자 했다. 담론이 언어의 사회적 실천이라는 점에 착안 하여 정부, 국회, 언론 등에서 수집한 자원봉사 관련 텍스트들을 시간의 흐름에 따라 다양한 수준에서 분석을 시연하였고, 그 과정을 예시를 통해 보여줌으로써 향후 대량의 자료 분석의 가능성을 타진하였다. 분석 결과도 지배담론의 노출과 저항담론의 탐색으로 귀결될 수있었다. 끝으로 자원봉사 연구에서 이와 같은 연구과정을 통해 기대할 수 있는 효과를 제시 하였다.

영문 초록

This is an essay that attempted to develop a discourse analysis on the volunteer phenomena in Korea since the 2000s. In particular, this article aimed to qualitatively understand the process of change and the meaning of volunteer discourse in Korean society, mainly around the enactment of the Framework Act on Volunteer Service Activities. To this end, I applied the concept of Fairclough s critical discourse analysis and the method of analysis of Woo. In order to conduct a full-scale study, extensive data collection and analysis will have to be performed for a long time. Therefore, this study drafted the research proposal and presented the results and examples of partial analysis to check the validity of the method. The research question is what is the content and meaning of the formation and changes of the discourse on volunteerism in Korean society in the 2000s. The following points were considered. First, the scope of volunteer discourse, including the process of enacting the Framework Act on Volunteer Service Activities, secondly, the flow of volunteer discourse, and third, the social and political meaning of volunteer discourse. Based on the fact that the discourse is the social practice of language, the texts related to volunteers collected by the government, the National Assembly, and the media et. al. were discussed and analyzed at three levels over time. By showing the process through examples, it is possible to explore the possibility of analyzing a large amount of data in the future. The exposure of ruling discourses and the search for resistance discourses were successful. Finally, I described the effects of this research process on improving the quality of volunteer research.
