초등사회과 인권수업 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등사회과의 인권수업을 연구자와 수업자가 창의적으로 구성 및 실행해보고 그 과정에서 가지는 어려움, 수업 후 알게 된 점 등을 탐색해보았다. 연구자들은 수업을 구성하면서 교과서 속의 인권이라는 주제가 우리나라의 민주정치라는 단원 속에 포함되어 있기 때문에 인권의 내용과 범주에 대한 혼란을 느꼈다. 또한 역동적인 인권의 개념을 고정된 하나의 개념으로 가르치려는 오류를 인식하였다. 하지만 연구자들은 행복바구니, 불편한 진실체험하기 등의 활동을 통해 도덕과와 다른 사회과만의 특성이 드러나는 수업을 구성하고 실행하였다. 수업 실행 후 학생들의 결과물을 통 해서 지식중심보다는 가치중심의 인권수업이 학생들에게 효과적이라는 것을 알게 되었다. 본 연구는 실제로 인권수업을 하는 현장교사들에게 도움을 줄 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 교육과정과 교과서를 설계하는 연구자들에게도 인권에 관한 내용을 조직하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the difficulties of the researcher and the instructor in the process of practice of human rights lessons in elementary social studies, and what they learned after class. The researchers felt confused about the contents and categories of human rights since the topic of human rights was included in the unit of democracy in South Korea. In addition, error of attempting to teach the dynamic notion of human rights as a fixed concept was recognized. However, the researchers constructed and practiced classes in which characteristics of moral and other social studies were revealed through activities such as happiness baskets and uncomfortable experiences of truth. Based on the outcomes of the lessons, the fact that value-oriented human rights lessons are more effective for students than knowledge based ones was learned. This study can help not only teachers in the filed who teach human rights classes, but also help researchers who design curriculum and textbooks and organize contents about human rights.
