여중생의 집단따돌림 방관경험과 해결방안 인식에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 집단따돌림 예방 및 개입에 가장 중요한 역할을 하는 방관자 집단의 집단따돌림에 대한 인식 및 집단따돌림 해결방안에 관한 인식을 알아보기 위하여 수행되었다. 특히 집단따돌림은 중학생 및 여학생들 사이에서 가장 빈번하게 나타나는 학교폭력이라는 점에서 여중생의 집단따돌림 방관경험 및 집단따돌림 해결방안에 대한 인식을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 집단따돌림을 방관한 경험이 있는 10명의 여중생을 대상으로 심층 면담을 시행한 후 지속적 비교 분석방법을 통해 주제와 주제모음, 핵심범주를 도출하였다. 연구 결과 집단따돌림 방관경험을 설명하는 핵심범주는 ‘또래관계 갈등을 통한 타인과 나 돌아보기’로 명명되었으며, 이 핵심범주를 설명하는 3개의 주제모음( 관련자에 대한 복합적 감정, 자신의 대처에 대한 내적갈등, 대인관계에 대한 회의감) 및 7개의 주제가 추가되었다. 집단따돌림 해결방안 인식을 설명하는 핵심범주는 ‘배려와 실천을 통한 변화를 추구하기’로, 이 핵심범주는 2개의 주제모음(타인에 대한 바람, 자신의 결심)과 8개 주제로 설명될 수 있었다. 마지막으로 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 학교현장에서의 의의와 연구의 제한점 을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to describe female middle school students experience as bystanders and their perceptions of solutions for school bullying. The role of bystanders are most important to stop school bullying and social exclusion one of a variety types of school bullying is most common in female middle school students. Participants of the study were 10 female students from a middle school located in a metropolitan area. They were interviewed 2 or 3 times over a period of two months for 50~60 minutes each time. In-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted and voice-recorded with each participant. The interview and observational data were analyzed based on a constant comparison method to organize and classify participants experience as bystanders of school bullying and their perceptions of solutions. Data analysis revealed two core categories. One category was associated with participants experience as bystanders and labeled as Reflection of others and themselves through peer conflict. It includes three clusters of themes and 7 themes. The other core category was associated with their perceptions of solutions for school bullying and labeled as Making change by taking care of others and intervening. It includes two clusters of themes and eight themes. Finally implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
