일본과 핀란드 교과외 활동의 주요 역량 탐구

국문 초록

역량 중심 교육이 강조되고 있는 현 교육 흐름에서 교과 활동뿐만 아니라 교과외활동인 창의적 체험활동을 통해서도 우리나라 학생들이 필수적으로 함양해야 할 역량을 좀 더 정교하게 제시하고, 학교 현장의 교사들이 보다 의식적인 노력을 기울일 수 있도록 토대를 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 이를 위해 우리나라와 유사한 교육과정 구조를 가지고 있는 일본과, 국가적으로 교과외 활동을 제시하고 있는 핀란드의 다양한 활동의 분석을 통해 우리의 창의적 체험활동 교육과정 개발에 도움을 줄 수 있 는 시사점을 추출하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 일본과 핀란드의 교과외 활동들은 모두 국가에서 제시하는 교육과정의 지향 방향과 대체로 일치하는 역량을 제시하면서 교과외 활동에서 주목해야할 한 두 가지 역량을 보다 강조하여 제시하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 일본과 핀란드 모두, 교과외 활동의 하위 활동 전체에 걸쳐 공통적으로 지향해야 할 사항 즉, 일본은 ‘집단 안에서의 바람직한 인간관계의 형성’의 강조, 핀란드의 경우는 ‘한인간으로의 성장’을 강조하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 일본과 핀란드 모두 사회 의 영향을 받아 교과외 활동에서만 강조하는 특징적 내용도 제시하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

In the stream of the competence-based education, it is necessary to identify competences for students to develop and for teachers to concentrate their efforts on through extra-curricular activities as well as subject-based activities. In this study, we, researchers concentrate our research focus on the competences to be developed in extra-curricular activities. The purpose of the study is to look for the implications through the analysis of extra-curricular activities of Finland where has emphasized on student s competences and Japan where has similar in structure of national curriculum to Korea. The results of the research are as follows; first, extra-curricular activities of two countries are aiming at the same directions of the purpose of the national curriculum. But they do not emphasize all the purpose of the national curriculum, but focus on the one or two purpose(competences). Second, each countries has its common competences to cover all the sub extra-curricular activities, such as, development of group consciousness and attitude in Japan, and development as a human in Finland. Third, there are particular competences which are emphasized only in extra-curricular activities. This means that there are special competences which can be developed more efficiently through extra-curricular activities. The new curriculum of the Creative Experiential Activity should be developed beyond the mere physical integration of the former discretion activity and extra-curricular activity , and the results of this study will give a guide in identifying and developing the competence of new curriculum of extra-curricular activities.
