메타분석을 통한 협동학습이 학업성취에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 메타분석 통계방법을 적용하여 협동학습이 학생의 학업성취에 어느 정도 효과가 있는가를 밝히는데 있으며, 이를 수행하기 위하여 국내에서 발표된 석 박사학위논문과 학술논문 263편 가운데 293개의 효과크기 수를 메타분석 하였다. 본 연 구의 주요 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 본 연구에서 설정한 협동학습의 전체 평균 효과크기는 .47로 나타나 실험처치를 가한 실험집단의 효과는 비교집단에 비해 18.08퍼센타일 만큼의 증가를 보였다. 둘째, 협동학습의 모형들 중 학업성취에 가장 큰 효과를 나타내고 있는 TGT모형을 비롯하여 LT모형, Jigsaw모형, 자율적 협동, STAD(성취과제분담학습), 구조중심 협동학습모형 등은 학생들의 학업성취에 효과가 큰 협동학습 모형인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 협동학습의 학교 급별에 따른 학업성취 효과크기는 초등학교가, 실시 교과목에 따른 학업성취 효과는 언어, 과학과 사회 교과목이 협동학습의 영향을 상대적으로 많이 받는 것으로 드러났다. 넷째, 협동학습에 있어서 학생들의 학습능력이 낮은 학생일수록 협동학습의 학업성취 효과가 큰 것으로 판명되었다. 이같은 연구를 통해 그동안 선행된 많은 협동학습과 관련된 개별연구들의 각기 다른 학업성취 효과에 메타분석을 적용하여 보다 강력한 결론을 내렸으며, 또한 이 분야의후속 연구를 수행하는 데 필요한 기초자료와 방향성을 제시하였다

영문 초록

This study was designed to synthesize quantitatively the effects of academic achievement in cooperative learning using the meta-analysis method. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, 215 master s theses and doctoral dissertation, and 48 academic journal, published from 2001 to February 2014 were analyzed and 293 effect sizes were calculated. The main results of this study were as follows: First, the grand mean effect size of the independent variable, cooperative learning selected in this study turned out to be .47. And experimental group is 16.08percentile higher than controled group. Second, including TGT, LT, Jigsaw, STAD, and structure centered cooperative learning model are large effect size on student s academic achievement turned out to be cooperative learning model. Third, cooperative learning is effective for academic achievement of coeducation and elementary school students. And cooperative learning is most effective in language subject but less effective in science subject. Fourth, cooperative learning of students in academic ability, the cooperative learning of the lower the academic achievement has been proved to be a large effect. The overall results of this study concluded more powerful and big decisions which have integrated each different effects on academic achievement of studies cooperative learning method applying meta-analysis. And this study of more powerful integrating decisions suggested the base line data and direction for follow up studies.
