생활제품을 위한 陶紙(도지) 소재에 관한 조사 연구 - 레이저 컷팅 기법을 중심으로

국문 초록

우리 삶의 질 향상과 함께 제품디자인은 아름다움과 개성, 재료, 기능성 등의 요소로 다양한 요구에 맞추어 발전하여 왔으며 도자 제품디자인 또한, 시대적 흐름에 따라 많은 변화를 보이며 발전해 왔다. 고도의 산업사회와 과학기술의 발달로 인한 신소재 개발은 점토를 이용한 생활제품 디자인 영역에서도 다양한 활용법을 제시 하고 있다. 그러나, 기존의 점토를 이용한 도자 제품의 경우 성형(成型), 건조, 소성과정을 거치게 되면서 제작소요 시간이 길어지는 점과 점토의 고유 성질로 인한 정교한 표현의 어려움으로 수작업의 한계점이 발생하게 된다. 이에 본 연구는 활용도가 낮은 陶紙(도지)를 이용하여 기존의 도자 제품 디자인의 제작 공정 시간 단축과 신기술 접목으로 수작업의 한계점을 극복하고 생활 제품 디자인에 활용 될 수 있는 소재로써의 가능성 제시를 그 목적으로 한다. ㈜東洋펄프(Touyou pulp CO., Ltd.)와 ㈜日鐵鑛業 (Nittetsu Mining CO., Ltd.이 개발한 특수 지로 일본에서는 陶紙(도지)라는 상품명으로 판매되고 있으며 국내에서도 이와 흡사한 소재를 판매하고 있다. 종이와 같은 감각으로 가위나 칼로 오리거나 물에 담구어 굽히는 제작도 가능한 특징을 가진 陶紙(도지)를 이용하여 정교하고 복잡한 디자인도 가능하게 하는 레이저 컷팅 기법으로 화병을 시제품으로 제작하였다. 그 결과, 레이져 컷팅 기법이라는 신기술과 陶紙(도지)소재와의 접목으로 제작 공정 시간 단축과 수작업의 한계점을 극복하게 되었으며 그로 인해 정교한 디자인으로 제품의 차별화에도 크게 이바지 될 것으로 판단된다. 계획적이고 디자인 개발의 필요성이 절실하게 요구되는 도자 제품 디자인에서 본 연구의 陶紙 (도지)소재 조사가 향후 다양한 디자인 표현, 다양한 활용법 제시, 차별화가 가능한 도자 제품 디자인 개발의 기초 자료로 많이 활용되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

With the improved quality of life, product designs have been developed into elements like beauty, individuality, material, and functionality, suitable for diverse demands. Ceramic product designs also have been developed by showing many changes in accordance with the time flow. The development of new materials by advanced industrial society and development of scientific technology is suggesting diverse application methods in the living product design area using clay. However, in case of ceramic products using the existing clay, there were limitations of manual work such as increased hours for production going through the process of forming, drying, and plasticity, and difficulty to have elaborate expressions due to the inherent nature of clay.Thus, this study aims to suggest the possibility of DOJI with low utilization as a material for living product designs, by overcoming the limitations of manual work through the combination of a new technique and reduction of production processing hours for the existing ceramic product designs by using DOJI. As a special paper developed by Touyou Pulp CO., Ltd. and Nittetsu Mining CO., Ltd., it is sold under the product name as DOJI in Japan while there is also a similar material on sale in Korea. Using DOJI feeling like paper, which could be cut with scissors or knife or bent in the water, a vase was produced as a prototype through the laser cutting technique for elaborate and complex designs. In the results, the combination of a new technique called laser cutting technique and a material DOJI has overcome the limitations of manual work and also reduced the production processing hours, which is expected to be largely contributing to the differentiation of products with elaborate designs. As the calculated design development is urgently needed to ceramic product designs, the research on a material DOJI of this study is expected to be a lot used as basic data to develop ceramic product designs with diverse design expressions, suggestion of application, and differentiation in the future.
