구비설화 속 노인의 생존 전략과 공생논리

국문 초록

현대사회는 노령화 사회로 급속히 진입하게 되면서 노인에 대한 전통적 가치체계가 붕괴되고 있다. 이는 노인의 사회적 지위를 약화시키며, 자녀간의 관계를 수평적 관계의 이하로 전락시키고 있다. 이러한 노인의 역할 상실과 가치체계의 붕괴를 인식한 현대사회는 노인복지나 고용의 문제를 사회적 관심사로 점차 부각시키고 있다. 따라서 이 연구의 목표도 ‘구비설화 속 노인의 생존 전략과 공생논리’라는 논제 속에서 노인이 주체적 삶을 영위해 나가면서 사회와의 소통에 적극적으로 임하는 태도를 살펴보는 것이다. 지금까지 노인관련 연구는 고전문학 전반에 걸쳐 산발적으로 연구되어 왔으며, 구비설화에서 노인과 관련된 연구 활동 역시 활발하지 않다. 또한 그 연구는 대부분 타자로서의 노인연구에 치중하고 있다. 그리하여 본 연구는 능동적이고 활동적인 노인을 조망하였다. 나아가 우리 삶의 멘토 차원에서 노인의 지 혜는 여전히 필요함을 살폈다. 따라서 노인설화를 통한 인문학적 가치성찰을 제기하는 바이다.

영문 초록

As the modern society has dramatically become aging society, the traditional value toward the elderly also has been changed and collapsed. This weakens the social position of the seniors, and the relationship between their offsprings, which used to be vertical, is changed into a horizontal relation or even worse. Since role loss of the elders and the erosion of the value become a social issue, it is obvious that welfare for the aged and elderly employment have received the spotlight from the society. In this paper, as the title of “Surviving strategy and co-existence of Old people in Oral forlktales” indicates, it is studied that the elderly from the folktales lead an independent life with the active attitude toward interaction with the society. The existing classical literature studies about the elderly have been scatteringly dealt, and studies about the aged in the folktales have been inactive. Moreover, most of those studies deal with the elders as a Third person. Therefore, in this paper studies the seniors with active attitude and insists their wisdom is still necessary for our life as a mentor. Furthermore, the Humanistic value is studied with the folktales about the elders.
