심의린(沈宜麟)의 『조선동화대집』에 대한 연구 동향 고찰

국문 초록

본고에서는 1926년에 발행된 우리말 최초의 동화집․설화집인 심의린의 조선동화대집에 대한 연구 동향을, 문학이론의 접근법을 원용하여 고찰했다. 작가론적 관점의 연구에 대한 성과는, [조선동화대집]의 편찬 배경에 대한 폭 넓은 접근을 했다는 것, 심의린을 민족주의적 성향의 인물로 보기 힘들다는 것, [조선동화대집]은 아동을 가르치기 위한 이야기였다는것 등이었다. 그 한계는 제국주의 침략의 의도와 애국계몽적 의도의 근거가 더 필요하다는 것, 심의린의 논저가 그 당시에는 얼마나 식민사관에 가까웠는지에 대한 분석이 필요하다는 것, ‘아동을 위한 이야기’와 ‘아동을 가르치기 위한 이야기’의 구분이 힘들다는 것 등이었다. 작품론적 관점의 연구에 대한 성과는, [조선동화대집]은 민족주의적 성향을 보여준다는 것, 조선동화대집에는 소담(笑談) 또는 소화(笑話)의 비율이 가장 높다는 것, 조선동화대집에 나타난 우의적 성격과 그의미를 밝힌 것, <반쪽이>의 최초 판본을 조선동화대집으로 규정한것, [조선동화대집] 소재 <개구리 神仙>은 번안 작품이 아니라 광포 설화의 영향을 받았다는 것 등이었다. 그 한계는 조선동화대집의 민족주의적 성향이 우리 전통 설화에 이미 내재된 특징일 수 있다는 것, 유형 분류의 기준이 모호하다는 것, 우의의 유형 설정 기준이 없다는 것, ‘외다리 반쪽이’ 형을 보편적 구전설화로 본 것은 재론의 여지가 있다는 것,<개구리 신선>은 <개구리 왕자>와의 친연성이 훨씬 두드러지기 때문에 그림형제의 동화 <개구리 왕자>를 번안했다고 보는 것이 더 타당하다는 것 등이었다. 반영론적 관점의 연구에 대한 성과는, [조선동화대집]은 [조선동화집]을 복원․보충하여 민족적 심성이나 정신을 전수하려 했다는 것, 일본어로 발행된 ‘조선동화집’類는 내선일체의 강조 또는 조선의 특색과 모습제시 등의 특징이 있다는 것 등이었다. 그 한계는 일부의 이야기를 근거로 [조선동화대집]을 [조선동화집]의 ‘되받아 쓰기’라고 규정한 것, 일본 국내에서 발행된 ‘조선동화집’類들도 결국은 내선일체의 정책에 부합하고 있었다는 것 등이었다.

영문 초록

This study consider that research tendency about Shim-EuiRin’s Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip ,which was published 1926 and became the first Korean Language fairy tale-folktale book. Achievements of the study with the writer’s point of view are like these: wide approach about editing backgrounds of Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip, claims that it is hard to regard Shim-EuiRin as the person of nationalism tendency, and the fact that Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip have stories to teach children. And there are unsettled questions: the fact that it requires more reasons about imperialistic invasion and patriotic enlightenment intention, that it needs more analysis about whether Shim-EuiRin’s writings is close to the colonial view of history or not, and that it is difficult to distinguish the story for teaching from the story for children. Achievements of the study of with the literary work’s view are these: the fact that Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip indicates nationalism tendency, the fact that Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip have many humor stories, Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip’s allegoric character and meaning, that Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip is the first version of , is influenced by wide-spread folktales. And there are unsettled questions : that Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip’s nationalism tendency is a character of folktale, criteria of type classification is vague, there is no criteria of allegoric classification, that it is plausible to think of as an adapted story of since there are some similiarities. Achievements of the study with a reflection theory’s view are these: that Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip is intended to success to Korean Spirit or mind through compensating Jo-SoenDongHwaGip, that all kinds of ‘Jo-SoenDongHwaGip’ in Japanese Language have characters Naeseon Ilche(Korea and Japan are One policy) and JoSeon’s features. And there are unsettled questions : that Jo-Soen DongHwa Daegip is a writing of copying Jo-SoenDongHwaGip with partial reasons, that all kinds of ‘Jo-SoenDongHwaGip’ in Japanese Language indicates Naeseon Ilche(Korea and Japan are One policy).
