발명영재교육에 대한 학부모와 교사의 인식 및 요구

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 교사와 학부모가 발명영재교육을 어떻게 인식하고 있으며 그들이 요구하는 발명영재교육의 방향을 알아봄으로써 발명영재교육의 발전에 기여할 수 있는 기초 자료를 확보하는데 그목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해서 발명영재교육의 필요성에 대한 학부모와 교사의 인식과 앞으로 나아가야할 발명영재교육에 대한 요구에 대해 알아보았다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 발명영재교육의 정의를 교사나 학부모 대부분이 발명 분야의 인재를 키우는 교육이라 인식하고 있으며, 발명영재학생의 정의에 대하여는 발명․과학 분야에 재능이 뛰어난 학생이라는 응답이 많았다. 발명영재교육에 관한 정보를 얻는 매체에 있어서는 학부모와 교사간의 견해차를 보였다. 발명영재선발에 있어서는 두 집단 간의 유의미한 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 발명영재교육의 필요성에 대한 인식조사에서 학부모와 교사 모두가 필요하다는 의견을 보이고 있다. 그 이유로 국가의 발명 전문인 양성을 위해서 필요하다고 응답했다. 셋째, 발명영재교육에 대한 학부모와 교사의 요구를 종합해 보면 발명영재교육의 효율성을 높이기 위하여 전문성을 가져야 한다는 의견은 같이 하고 있으나 그 세부적인 요구는 조금씩 다른 비율로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The Purpose of this study is to examine elementary school teachers and parents attitudes toward developing a curriculum which promotes ingenious creativity in an effort to serve as a basis for a successful system in the future. For that purpose, I analyzed teachers and parents attitudes toward the necessity of implementing a curriculum which engages elementary students with inventive minds and which meets the demands for improving the benchmark of invention gifted education. The main results are as follows; First, concerning the definition of invention gifted education, the majority of teachers and parents think it is a specialized class, meant to raise the gifted students in a specialized field and they think the invention gifted students are those who have superb talents in the creative thinking and science fields. Teachers and parents showed different opinions about how to get the information of invention gifted education. In terms of selecting the creative-thinking students, there is no mean difference between the teacher and parent groups. Second, from research regarding the necessity of invention gifted education, teachers and parents both said it is necessary and important. Third, from research regarding the demand for invention gifted education, the two groups said invention gifted education should be more specialized for efficiency but showed differing opinions in some details.
