교과통합 진로교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 진로성숙도와 자아존중감에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 교과통합 진로교육 프로그램이 초등학교 6학년 아동들의 진로성숙도와 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 실시하였다. 연구대상은 경남 J시에 소재하고 있는 J초등학교 6학년 2개 학급을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 하였으며, 초등학교 정규 교과목 중 국어, 도덕, 사회, 실과에서 진로교육 관련 내용을 재구성하여 교과통합 진로교육 프로그램을 구성하여 적용한 결과 아래와 같다. 교과통합 진로교육 프로그램 적용 후 진로성숙도의 사후검사시 실험집단은 통제집단에 비하여 진로지향성(p<.001), 직업의 이해(p<.001), 합리성(p<.001), 직업적 성편견(p<.001), 자기이해(p<.05), 자율성(p<.001) 및 자긍심(p<.001) 모두에서 유의한 차이가 나타나 교과통합 진로교육 프로그램이 진로성숙도 향상에 긍정적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 알 수 있었다. 교과통합 진로교육 프로그램의 적용 후 자아존중감의 사후검사시 실험집단은 통제집단에 비하여 자아존중감에 대한 하위요인인 일반적 자아(p<.001), 사회적 자아(p<.001), 가정적 자아(p<.001), 학교자아(p<.001) 모두에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 이를 통해 교과통합 진로교육 프로그램이 자아존중감을 향상하는데 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 교과통합 진로교육 프로그램은 초등학생의 진로성숙도와 자아존중감을 향상시켜 합리적인 진로결정을 하는데 도움을 주는 의미있는 활동이며 행복한 미래의 삶을 준비하는 기회를 부여한다는 점에서 바람직한 교육활동이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to comprehend the effect of the integrated subjects career education program on the career maturity and self-esteem of the sixth graders in elementary school. For research objects, two classes in the sixth grade in J Elementary School, located in J City, Gyeongnam Province, were selected as the experimental group and the control group while a integrated subjects career education program was established by reorganizing the contents related to career education from Korean, ethics, social studies and practical course out of the regular school subjects in elementary school. The results analyzed after conducting the program are as follows: As for the change of students career maturity through the integrated subjects career education program, the experimental group showed significant differences, compared to the control group through the post-test in all the domains of career directivity (p<.001), understanding about professions (p<.001), rationality (p<.001), sexual prejudice in professions(p<.001), self-understanding (p<.05), autonomy (p<.001) and pride (p<.001), which indicated that the integrated subjects career education program has positive effects on the improvement of students career maturity. As a result of examining the change of children s improving their self-esteem after applying the integrated subjects career education program, the experimental group in the post-test showed significant differences in all the subordinate factors of self-esteem, such as general ego (p<.001), social ego (p<.001), domestic ego (p<.001) and school ego (p<.001), compared to the control group, through which it was found that the integrated subjects career education program has positive effects on the improvement of students self-esteem. Accordingly, it can be defined that the integrated subjects career education program is a meaningful activity helping elementary school students make a rational career decision by improving their career maturity and self-esteem and a desirable educational activity, in that it grants students an opportunity to prepare a happy life in the future.
