관광의사결정의 유연성과 결정요인

국문 초록

본 연구는 다양한 관광의사결정에 결정시기의 차이가 있는지 살펴보고 결정시기의 차이에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 조사하기 위해 수행되었다. 온라인 설문조사를 시행하여 수집된 311개의 응답을 이용하여 연구를 수행하였다. 분석결과 교통수단, 체류일수, 숙박시설, 주요노선과 같은 주요 의사결정은 출발 이전 미리 결정되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 반면 부차적인 관광지, 레저 활동의 종류와 수, 관광명소의 종류와 수, 쇼핑시설의 종류와 수, 레스토랑의 종류와 수, 기념품점에 관련된 결정은 보다 유연하게, 즉 출발 이후 관광지에서 결정되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 개인의 성향과 위험지각, 그리고 의사결정의 충동성이 관광의사결정의 유연성에 미치는 것을 밝혔다. 다중회귀분석 결과 관광객의 의사결정 충동성이 높을수록 의사결정 중 부차적인 관광지와 관광명소, 레스토랑과 관련한 결정이 출발 이후 관광지에서 결정되는 경향이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 관광객의 위험감수성향이 높을수록 숙박시설, 부차적인 관광지, 쇼핑시설의 종류와 수, 주요노선, 레스토랑과 같은 의사결정이 관광지에서 유연하게 결정되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 아울러 인구통계학적 특성 중 연령과 소득이 유연한 관광의사결정에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study is designed to examine if various travel decisions are subject to different decision making timing and identify important factors that influence the flexibility of travel decision making. A total of 311 responses were collected from a web-based survey. The empirical findings suggest that major decisions such as transportation, number of days away from home, accommodation, and major route tend to be decided prior to departure. On the other hand, tourists often make decisions on secondary destinations, leisure activities, attractions, shopping facilities, restaurants, and souvenir shops after they set out on trips. In this study, tourist’s personality traits, risk perception and impulsiveness were identified as significant factors in travel decision flexibility. A series of multiple regression analyses shows that impulsiveness trait had a statistically significant positive relationship with the decision timings regarding secondary city, attractions, and restaurants. The results also found that risk aversion tendency was negatively related to the decision timings on accommodation, secondary city, shopping, major route, and restaurants. In addition, age and income were significantly related to travel decision timing.
