영문 초록

This study deals with the modeling of commuter travel choice with latent variables, a case study of LG Chemistry Cheongiu Factory. The objectives are two-fold : (1) to develop the models using latent variables such as the convenience, confidence and others, and (2) to compare the developed models with the existing models in which the latent variables are not included. In pursuing the above, this study gives the particular focus on the multinomial and binomial logit (MNL and BNL) models using the latent variables. The main results are the followings. First, the case study shows that the latent variables such as confidence, safety and others are more important than traditional variables such as travel time and cost in the commuter travel choice of LG Chemical Cheongju Factory. Second, the p²― values of BNL and MNL models using latent variables are analyzed as 0.1976 and 0.4814 respectively. It means that the statistical significances of both models are very high. Third, in terms of p²― and hitting ratio, the models using latent variables are better fit to the surveyed data than the models which the variables are not considered. Therefore, it can be explained that the qualitative factors largely affect to the commuter`s choice behavior.
