영문 초록

This thesis is to describe the evolution and characters of "Murazukuri" in Japan. Murazukuri is the strategy of revitalization by citizen participation in mura, which is various spatial units. Generally speaking, mura is understood as a detailed spatial area in urban planning area, but it is understood as a whole area of local administrative district in rural area. The meaning of murazukuri has been changing in cope with the level of development of socio-economic in Japan. From started as the movement of antigovernment to changed as the revitalization by citizen participation in mura. The rural revitalization is not simply achieved through rebuilding and investment of capital by government only. Communicative interaction among the participant group (residents, specialist and government) are essential part in planning and implementation for mura`s development. The Strategy of murazukuri is intergrated in comprehensive one, which is social, economic and spatial program based on the creation of amenity in rural area. Especially, it is established based on the revitalization of cultural and historical resources of rural, and the use of those resources, keeping with the change in the role of mura.
