Comparative Research of North Korean Patriotic Songs for Youth and Korean Traditional Poetry

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 북한의 노래·시 모음집 “선군동이들 노래해요”(금성청년출판사. 2004) 와 “우리 마음 조국에로”(문학예술종합출판사. 1997) 중에서 선별한 북한어린이·청소년애국노래 160편을 분석 대상 작품으로 살펴보았다. 제1부에서는 언어적 특성의 측면에서 북한의 청소년애국노래를 분석하였다. 특히 어린이·청소년노래에서 가장 자주 반복되는 주제와 어휘, 은유 등을 분석하고, 남북한의 어휘적 차이를 밝히고 있다. 제2부에서는 북한 청소년들이 노래를 통해 애국적 자의식과 긍정적인 사고 및 세계관을 형성하게 되는 메커니즘을 규명해보고자 하였다. 제3부에서는 노래 가사들의 상호텍스트성에 관한 문제를 살펴보았다. 지도자 김일성과 그의 부인 김정숙, 아들 김정일에게 바쳐진 노래들이 구조 및 시적 형상의 측면에서 얼마나 전통적인지 보여주는 예들을 살펴보았고, 한국전통시에서는 찾아볼 수 없는 새로운 특징들을 밝히고 있다. 본 연구에서는 사회주의 진영 국가들뿐만 아니라 대한민국의 애국노래들과의 유사, 인유, 암시, 숨겨진 인용 등을 밝혀보고자 하였고, 훨씬 더 이전의 한국의 전통구전창작과도 비교하였다.

영문 초록

The research is conducted on the basis of 160 North Korean patriotic songs for children and youth which were collected from the books “Songun youth sings” and “Our soul to the Motherland”. The research itself is a comparative analysis of some symbolic aspects of North Korean songs and traditional Korean poetry. This analysis helps to identify mechanisms of forming patriotic consciousness, positive thinking and outlook in the youth, to find out how much these songs communicate universal ideas of love for a country and to see how much they fit the literature tradition, which formed in the Korean poetry for centuries. It is not an exaggeration to claim that most patriotic songs of any country are structured according to the same thematic model. After conducting a comparative analysis of songs we arrive at the conclusion that all of them base on mental and ethno-cultural constants, such as references to the glorious centuries-long history of a state, indispensable beauty of local nature, glorious ancestors, god, etc., but have many traditional features which belong only to Korean poetic tradition. The research is an attempt to identify thematic, linguistic and conceptual constants of a contemporary North Korean patriotic songs, which bind it with the traditional mentality and the poetic format of sijo, kasa, minyo, hyangga, goryeo-gayo (basing on works by M.I. Nikitina, A.F. Trotsevitch, L.R. Kontsevitch) was used as the first example for a comparative analysis. The reasons for conceptual similarities are complicated, and related to Confucianism ideas and other extralinguistic and ethno-cultural factors.
